"This beautiful place was once just a dream of a few dedicated townspeople of Charleston. A small group from the Irish Historical Society, had this dream of building a memorial. They designed it, raised funds and shared the vision. The Mayor Joe cheered on their endeavors and many more supported it too. So this park, this city, this country is a place where people of Ireland and all peoples can dream and make things happen.
