Reviews of SOL Summerville
"My wife and I went here while out of town for work. It was our first time and it has to be the best place we have ever been. And we eat out alot !! Service was awesome, our server , Claire F. , was on point. She recommended the wood fired grilled salmon , it was over a bed of grits with gouda cheese and covered with red Chile's. It was so good !! My wife got the skirt steak with grilled vegetables and it was amazing. Cooked well done but still juicy and tender. Such an amazing time , we will definitely be going back. Also had live music while dining."
"What can I say about SOL... Amazing! I finally decided to visit after being in the area for over a year now. I honestly wish I had came sooner. I had what they call Tuna lollipops for the appetizer and the quality of the fried tuna cuts were amazing and thick. I honestly haven't had a cut of fish of that quality in a long time. For the main course I had to try the Shrimp and Grits although there was a lot on the menu I found enticing. Shrimp and Grits is a good baseline to judge across many restaurants here in Charleston because each one has a form of it. Gonna be honest with you... I kinda wanted to cry. Being from up north I've had many experiences with southern cooking and how they remix foods up in a way I never thought of eating them before. Well the Shrimp and Grits here blew my mind, they flash freeze the grits and chop them up into blocks, batter them, fry them, and serve the most delicious gravy with bacon on it. Of course the shrimp is good but the grits is the good kinda grit consistency, hard to tell if it was even frozen. I don't know what kinda mad cook thought this up but is was definitely a first for me. I will be back every month to pick apart the menu and try other things while dragging my family and friends with me. P.S. Cheesecake was pretty normal"
"This spot is ok.. looks very nice inside and the atmosphere is nice as well. However I find the food a bit basic & some meals pricey for the portion. Not very authentic Mexican either. Overall ok"
"Came here to meet with a family member who just moved to the area. We were not really hungry, but we felt like snacking We ordered margaritas, bang bang shrimp and steak taco. At first thought is easy to think that you’re going to a traditional Mexican restaurant. But I would like to suggest that you read the description. This restaurant is exactly what it says it is in the description. I feel that it is a place that specializes in meals that are traditionally served in the southwestern part of the US. For example, we ordered tacos and bang bang shrimp. There were other things on the menu that you would find in places other than Mexican restaurant. I say this because I was also confused the first time I ate there years ago. It’s in a good location close to the Nexton area, right off of the main road and exit 199 coming from Highway 26. If you’re not familiar with the area,l you may ride ride on by. The place is nice and clean. The waitresses were very attentive and I really love the atmosphere. It’s kind of dim inside - we had to use a flashlight to see the menu. It could’ve been just us . Other than that I really like the place. I will stop there for a fast quick meal or drinks at anytime. The food was good also."
"Our food was really good! I really like the nachos the organic chicken was tender. The kids meals were large and had healthy options for side such as grilled sweet potatoes and side salad. 8 loved my salad just didn’t love the fresh g. Zero taste other than olive oil. Would definitely go again. The best thing in the menu was Mexican street corn."
