"The pier is a great spot for fishing, a walk, a date, or to just sit and have a nice time on your own. You'll get some great views of the Yorktown, downtown, and the bridge. The longer you stay the better chance you'll have at seeing dolphins. Seating and restrooms are available, although the restrooms may be closed. It's a great spot to photograph the bridge above you."
"I am starting to fish again, and this is one of my favorite places to go. We caught a puffer fish, a crab and the guy next us caught something that look like a snake and a fish mixed we threw it all back. Extremely clean and roomy. There is lots of seating on the pier. There is, a water source to clean your fish, located directly on the pier. Lots of covered spaces with shade. You can rent a fishing rod, buy bait, and buy a fishing pass. The pier is great for walking, lots of open spaces, and there are walking trails that lead to the other side of Mount Pleasant. If you cross the street, you can take the pathway and walk up the Ravenel Bridge. There is a really nice playground at the very front of the park. It is always filled with kids and laughter. Closer to the parking area is an event space and public restrooms. Beautiful views and great for groups. Accessible parking and seating available. #ttips: come close to Sunset for beautiful pictures of the sun going down at the water."
"I love the Mount Pleasant Pier. There is a playground for the kids, a gift shop with all things South Carolina, plus you can get your fishing license there, great sunset views, and view of the USS Yorktown. Benches to sit on and a few tables to picnic at. All nestled under the Ravenel Bridge. It's a great spot for relaxing."
"As an annual pilgrimage to South Carolina, the Mount Pleasant Pier is one destination we visit. The pier has a multitude of activities available. Our primary purpose is to fish. They have the best platform as far as fishing goes. The species that present is tremendous. From Red fish to pin fish to stingrays with many many more to numerous to name. The pier is also long enough to walk and enjoy all the scenery of the river with ships and wildlife. A river watch and gift shop with a sandwich bar. Parking is free and plentiful. There is no charge to walk the pier, if fishing from the pier there is a nominal fee."
