"I wanted to like the Hilton Head Diner. What is better than a true diner experience? The atmosphere was reasonably true to the genre, with a nice counter and decent booth seating. The menu was extensive and seemed reasonably priced. The service was also very good, with a coffee served quickly. Good expectations. Unfortunately the food let the place down. I had the country fried steak and eggs for breakfast. The ‘steak’ seemed to be a breaded patty of some indeterminate ‘meat’ that was taken out of the freezer shortly before cooking. The sausage gravy was goopy. The eggs and hash browns were fine. The rye toast was good. These last items took the food rating from a two to a three, but if scrambled eggs and toast is redeeming your food, well…… If I go back, I’ll try something else."

"We came here a couple of times on our week long trip to Hilton Head. The first time we came in on Christmas day and had a wonderful breakfast & lunch. We gad the banana fosters pancakes, ribs, pancake big breakfast, and the gluten free stuffed french toast. The second time we came in I tried the gluten free blueberry pancakes and they were delicious too!!"

"A really cool place to eat on HHI! Good food, good prices, great music, and good service. This place takes you back in time and has a cool feel. Staff members are all very friendly. My husband and I had a late dinner around 8pm and received good service and tasty food. My husband loved the clam chowder soup, and I loved the chicken tenders and fries. We also split a hot fudge brownie sundae and it was pretty good! Their pies and cakes looked delicious. They have a lot of options on their menu as well as all-day breakfast. I definitely recommend stopping here to eat!"

"The food was, well the best French toast I've ever eaten. The bacon, eggs, hash browns all delicious too. Service was good however I didn't realize it until after we left and paid 90 with tip for breakfast for 4 that I was over charged and almost every dish. Not sure why but it was almost a 15 discrepancy. I will most probably go back on future HHI visits but I'll be scrutinizing the bill."

"I had a grilled salmon and a BBQ pulled pork sandwich. My husband had a Buffalo chicken wrap, no blue cheese, and added tomatoes and parmeasan classic. I would say service is mid. My server couldn't listen, and we had to keep repeating everything. Our food, although we can't expect much from a restaurant, we could taste that the meatballs were frozen and the pasta wasn't homemade. My salmon had absolutely no flavor and tasted pretty artificial. Collard greens were cold and very acidic, and my pulled pork sandwich wasn't as good as it could have been, It was very chewy. I can say the vibe and look of this place does have that 80s diner feel to it. The ceiling tiles are horrendous and could use replacement as they are looking dark (mold) in some areas. It's a pretty spacious diner, and everything looks cool. Service and meals could be better. The presentation of the fire is quite nice, but the flavor is in more favor than looks"
