"Great place for fresh air for the whole family. Walk, run, bike, etc. Only down side is there are no restrooms or water fountains along the trail."
"Nice wide and paved walking path. Also has bike paths offshoots. Just doesn't make a loop, that I could tell."
"Although adventurers looking to experience a nature hike will feel this location is unfulfilling, the athletes looking for a quaint 6-mile run, bike, or dog walk will absolutely love the Sawmill Branch Canal Trail. The trek avoids traffic and intersections, is entirely paved with black asphalt. Parking at the trailhead is an unimproved dirt lot."
"Flat, paved trail. Parking area isn’t paved, and is VERY muddy when it rains. Also, the trail isn’t lit at night and I have come across vagrants hanging out (especially under the bridges). I carry mace with me to be safer. A decent enough path if you’re looking for a smooth running or biking path."
"I spend a good bit of my down time here... Is a 6. something mile walk and bike trail that follows the Sawmill branch canal... There are not play grounds ( that I have seen or know of), no place to do much but walk, run or ride your bike. The Real Beauty is the simplicity of this trail. I have seen families in the water splashing around. This is a place to go and get our children outside and experiencing the outdoors without having to go to the FMF or similar type of place. There are protected wet lands and just today I found a Marker (see in the pictures) History, water, and nice healthy fun. Get your family out here and check it out.. Thanks Summerville."
