"Short hike to campsite. Great site, but no camp host or rangers over night really hurts the experience. One of the group sites was loud all night and someone else tried to take our reserved site because they thought it was first come first serve. Great park but really needs some more support."
"Did an overnight here with hammocks, and it was pleasant. Know that there's a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the campsites and portable toilets are your closest option unless you take a very brief walk over to the visitor center, where the bathrooms are actually quite nice and open after hours. One thing to note: I found a big yellow hornet walking on my hammock's rain fly shortly after nightfall. While it left without incident, I imagine in warmer months hornets at the campground could be a very real concern."
"Truly great times camping at Longleaf. Vault bathrooms are right by the parking lot, and area minute walk to Campsite 1(and the following ones each are about a little less than a minute farther than the one before it...none are too far) No showers in the park, but nice bathrooms and water available 24 hours by the visitor center(a 5 min drive from Longleaf parking lot)"
"I was wondering why there were spots open for the 4th of July (typically a popular weekend to camp) and now I know why. It was so unbelievably hot. The sites are really nice though. Good size and I like that they are away from the parking lot. HIGHLY recommend getting and using a collapsible wagon to bring all your stuff to your site. Bring bug spray and wear tall socks. we got eaten alive by chiggers unfortunately even though we did have various bug spray items. There were people across the pond at the group sites who just blasted music super loud and sadly that carried over to our sites, but that's not the campsites fault."
"For a price and being in national park it us find rear to get. Huge parking, volt toilet. But I found that visitors center gas potable water and open during hours flush toilet. Walkable to boardwalk and visitors center. Don't miss other trails, you would emerge into prehistoric, abandon life life. So calm and relaxing."
