Reviews
"I read some bad reviews,I don't know where this people went thru , but this place is nice and fast!"
"I got a nice Great Clips cut. The cost is still low but that's questionable when considering that the stylists are timed and expected to keep the time to 10 minutes or less. That time is all inclusive starting from sitting the customer down in the chair to walking them up to check out. At payment time the cost seems a little less like a budget purchase when you add in a tip. They have a new feature at checkout. Instead of running your card and letting the customer add their idea of an appropriate tip, you are given a multiple choice option starting at $5, $7, $9... The haircut was $15 which means that the lowest option for a tip is 33.3% of the base cost then 46.6%, 60%... I aimed for $5 but went a little too far right and hit $7 or 46.6% of the base cost. This brings me to what is meant by "tip". First, it is optional. Second, it is supposed to be the customers way of letting a service worker that their effort, effort+, effort++ was noticed and appreciated. When tipping a wait person most are aware that their base pay is less than minimum wage and a tip augments their pay and hopefully gets them up to a living wage. Stylists at budget hair salons don't make as much as stylists employed in the fancy salons but they definitely are paid higher than minimum wage. So this new approach to "tipping" combined with the 10 minute cut, a stylist could complete 5 cuts in an hour (leaving 10 minutes to clean), or $25/hr before the wage is added... I don't want to disparage or demean the good work and sincere efforts of the employees who should be applauded for their efforts under the artificial stress added by the company who felt it necessary to put time limits on their stylists. I don't know if it's corporate greed or, well, corporate greed but in any case $22 for a haircut is no longer budget. A father and son are just under $45. Hmmm... (SMH)"
"Have been here 6 times with no problems, hence the 3 stars, until today. The lady with the anchor tattoo on her wrist cut my hair. Kept asking “is that good? is that better?” 5 minutes into the hair cut, constantly, and I felt pressured after twice telling her to fix something when initially I had given her explicit instructions. She would make three cuts and ask again. I figured I’m getting a professional barber cut at the end of this month for new years so whatever. I say yeah that’s good. I leave looking virtually no different than when I came in (with a jagged, lazy fade that is definitely NOT a 1). That’s not the worst part. I get home and run my hand through my hair one time, and I have a massive clump of it in my fingers. Literally as if I had gotten every strand I touched. Picture attached. She used the thinning scissors and went down almost to the root, did a few huge snips and then just left all the hair she cut off on my head! The picture is less than half of it, I had to spend 20 minutes in the shower washing the other half down the drain. I understand great clips is a budget chain. You get what you pay for. But there has to be a baseline. And this lady who I’m assuming is new definitely did not meet that baseline. I wouldn’t even be mad or written this review if I had at least came out of this with a good haircut."
"This place has NEVER provided a good haircut. It’s convenient to where I live. Shame on me. Always gave a $7 tip. Shame on me again. They truly suck at cutting hair."
"Miss Wanda did such an amazing job on my hair, I will only go to her from here on out. Never have I ever loved a haircut so much I wanted to leave a review from the parking lot. I don't get my hair cut that often because I'm always scared I'm going to hate it. So I was really nervous before going in and right away she just made me feel peaceful and relaxed. I can't get enough. I may even take pictures just so I can show it off. Lol. Thank you ma'am!! I really appreciate it. -the guy from Arizona"
