Waffle House

"I really hate posting this review but I'm hoping someone will see it and address the issue. This was my favorite Waffle House. Our family usually eats dinner here almost every Sunday on my son's way out of town to return to college. The food was and still is spectacular, cooked perfectly, and the cook always asks us how everything is--really nice man. BUT we saw a roach crawling up the side of the booth last week, didn't put too much into it because it was the flying silverfish kind and it can happen (they fly in but shouldn't thrive with proper cleaning and pest control). Then, tonight we sat in the booth behind the one we sat at last week, and I looked across at my son and there was a roach crawling by his head over the side of the booth, the same type roach. Also, they current server staff is very lazy. They don't refill coffee or ask how the food is, if you need anything, or even bring the check so you can pay it. I tip very well, usually 25-30%, and expect decent service in return. There's a female server who won't return to the table after bringing the food and her hair is always very greasy and dirty looking."

"Great breakfast and fast. They had a full staff on December 25 and sat down quickly and food was done at warp speed. Hey for Waffle House in a small town we could not complain. Music was little loud. Congratulations you guys you did a spectacular job on a busy day! Thank you!"

"I work overnight shift and every single time I call this store nobody answers it doesn't matter if it's 12:00 in the morning 3:00 in the morning or 6:00 in the morning. And it's so sad because this is a 24/7 restaurant. This time I actually came to the restaurant and called and watched as nobody was in the store they were instead in their car doing absolutely nothing but I guess sleeping or smoking or something. This is the saddest store I have ever seen. Every single day it is the same thing in the mornings anywhere between 11:00 at night to 7:00 in the morning nobody is available to take orders over the phone. They do know that they get paid for taking to go orders right? Better question is how does somebody even still have a job and they don't do their job? And how is the store still open at night time regardless of being 24/7 when you can never ever get your order taken? And how is it they are never ever able to take orders at night time?? Prosperity used to be bad but at least there, they only have one waitress and two Cooks and the waitress might tell you she can't take to go orders over the phone, but at least she answered the phone."

"In the past I had taken a hiatus from the brand. But lately I have been giving them a chance. Until this particular unit. After driving out my way, the night shift cook advised that my wait would be 25 minutes while the grill was cleaned for day shift. I don’t have a problem with the procedure, it’s the timing. In my humble opinion, why not shut down and re-set the entire restaurant before breakfast rush? Had they locked up and shut off the sign lights I could have made other decisions without exiting my vehicle in the rain."

"Anybody who gives Waffle House a bad rating has never been to a Waffle House. Breakfast as good as it gets with reliably bad service with a smile. Or is it even bad? It’s almost rehearsed when you don’t get silverware while the employees are yelling at each other about how they hate their jobs. The place runs as smoothly as greasy buttery over medium eggs off a questionably clean plate. But the food is delicious and the atmosphere is great and it’s always the right choice. Friendly people working even if they’re tired of being so busy and overworked. You can’t go wrong. Been going to this one for years and absolutely no complaints. (We thought about going to Huddle House before this and it was weird and quiet as a grave)"
