"Awesome location for military members and vets to take their families. You must reserve the pavilions for gatherings. There are a moderate amount of other areas that have picnic tables. Dogs are welcome if leashed. Primitive camping for tents available - reserve your spot ahead of time. There are cabins, RV spots in dedicated areas. Boat launch is excellent. Summers are busy. Need a military ID or be a guest of a military person."

"Very pretty, but the park closes at sunset, even for active military. You can't be here to watch the sunset fade out or stargaze unless you're a paid camper. The rules get stricter as the years roll on with no notification to longtime visitors until you're kicked out for things you used to enjoy. "It's always been like that." No, it hasn't."
