"The crab cakes I tried were the best I have ever had, and that includes comparing them with those in restaurants in Charleston , South Carolina. They weren't excessively bready, the crab was light and flaky, and they smelled like crab cakes should smell. None of that fishy smell you get from other places. The Caesar salad that I had before the meal was crisp and tasty. I also tried the vanilla pudding with the brulee topping to finish. The texture of the pudding was very pleasant, especially with the crunch of the topping. I saw many other plates delivered other tables with food that I definitely would like to try ( I don'tususally care for ribs, but Ithink I'dtry them here). I found the portions to be perfect. I was checked on by staff, and the owner during my meal, but no one was invasive and I was allowed to enjoy peacefully. The atmosphere is open, clean, and relaxing. Don't hesitate to try tThe Fickle Palate. I plan to go back here soon, and I'm bringing friends."
"I'm impressed. Just has a house salad which was uniquely well done followed by a pair of crab cakes that were worth twice what I paid for them. Great food. Reasonable prices. Good beer. Outstanding atmosphere. There are crowds of people here for a reason. They have an outdoor area with picnic tables, right off the street. There are large door type openings to let nature into the place. It's a nicely done space inside with a combination of tables, bar seating, etc. Definitely a place you might find in LA or NYC. I will be back."
"I got a recommendation from another Anderson restaurant to try this place for dinner. The Crab Gateau has a breadcrumb crust on the outside and plenty of meat on the inside. The Shrimp bisque had a good flavor with a few bits of shrimp. Overall it was a good experience. I would eat here again. Note: Only parties of 4 or more can make reservations."
"Tried out The Fickle Palate tonight, and it was everything we thought it would be, plus some. The staff was great and the food was even better. For dinner, we had the Crab Gateau, Kalbi (braised short ribs), and Roasted Brussels. The crab cakes rival those of coastal restaurants, the short ribs left nothing to be desired, and I willingly ate my Brussels. For dessert, we had the vanilla cup custard and banana bread pudding. They were the perfect ending."
"We have come here many times and have had everything on the menu (including nightly specials) and most of the cocktails. The food is innovative, flavorful and well portioned. The drinks are wonderful as they have gin, tequila and bourbon cocktails as well as a wonderful wine list. Their wine and dinner pairings are excellent as well. Josh and Shane are great hosts and we look forward to dining here every week!"
