Hotel Indigo Mount Pleasant, an IHG Hotel

"1st- When we went to check into the room it was under the wrong name. When they went to correct it, it was still under the wrong name. Whatever, just a mistake and didn't make a big deal of it. 2nd- When we got back to our room the night we checked in we noticed it smelled like smoke. It wasn't that bad and we were only staying one night so I saw no reason to complain. Figured it was someone else in another room. 3rd- When I checked my bank statement a couple days later I noticed there was an extra $250 charge on my account. When I called the hotel, they said it was a smoking charge. My wife and I do NOT smoke. After I told them that, the woman on the phone said it must have been a mistake and it looked like it had already been refunded and to wait for it to process. 4th- Even after bring told twice (I had to call back a few times) that it was a mistake and I would be refunded, I checked my online statement two weeks later and the charge was still there. 5th- I called again and was told they would have to talk to house keeping management to find out why they charged me in the first place even though they already said they would refund me. 6th- I get a call back from the Hotel claiming that the charge will stand even though they had already told me it was a mistake. They said their cleaning staff said the room smelled like smoke and they found ash in the bathroom. The manager claimed they had proof. When I asked him what proof, he had no answer. When I told him I'll drive an hour and half to the hotel if he can show me proof, he had no answer. Again, we do NOT smoke. After reading other reviews of others sharing how they have found pill bottles just laying on the floor and dirty rooms after check-in, I guess that I see now why they won't own up to their false claims. I was very nice and patient during this whole misunderstanding and still got screwed! I do NOT recommend staying at this hotel. I am usually not one to write a review but when basically being called a liar, I just can't let that stand."

"Hotel was great. Staff working at the hotel was extremely accommodating and I want to have a shout out to an elderly gentleman that went above and beyond for our group. We had a baseball team down there for a tournament and he allowed us to kind of take over the room a little bit and I know that wasn't their policy but he allowed it and I just want to say thank you very . You know you are bud"

"Nice hotel. The rooms were spacious and vary clean. The beds are very comfortable with lamps by the bed and plugs for your or tablet. The hotel had a very beach chic look. The pool was gorgeous, surrounded by beautiful palm trees. They do have a restaurant and a window on the pool deck where you could order food or drinks, yes and even alcoholic beverages. The staff was friendly, free parking and handicap parking right in the front of the hotel. The price is great. I recommend this hotel."

"The lobby is amazing, and the employees at check-in were very polite. However, I was very disappointed in the hotel as a whole. There was a random medication pill (not mine) on the floor of my bathroom, which speaks to how well it was cleaned prior to our stay. But it was also concerning as I had my young son with me. The poolsl had a bunch of leaves at the bottom and looked very dirty. They did clean it the 3rd day we were there, though. Also, on our 3rd day, we decided to have breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. First off, the food was absolutely disgusting. Microwaved eggs, the gravy on the biscuits were a gross reddish color, my sons bagel was stale, and we were given enough cream cheese for only half the bagel. That's not taking into account the chunky dry bits that were in the cream cheese. The coffee was absolutely bitter, and the cranberry juice tasted old. Think of the worst continental breakfast you've ever had, now charge an obscene amount for garbage food. When I asked our waiter for a minute of his time as he walked by, he smiled at me and kept walking, proceeded to take the coffee urn to make more coffee somewhere, then went and took care of another table, all while we waited for him to come back. When I said something about it, he told me he's obviously busy with other things. Honestly, aside from the front desk staff, the place is garbage."

"This hotel was convenient to many areas around Charleston. The room was clean and comfortable, the a/c was delightful after spending the days in heat. The pool and bar areas looked fantastic but we weren't able to enjoy them with everything else we had going on. Housekeeping did not replenish coffee pods, dirty coffee mugs or toilet paper. We called for tp and it was brought up quickly. I would stay here again."
