Reviews of Fred Solomon, DMD
"My family and I have been going to this practice since the early 90's. Always a great experience. The staff, hygienists, and dentists (especially the Sr. Dr. Solomon in the Sangaree location) are all so very nice, welcoming and efficient. I will never switch dentists."
"Always a positive experience when I have an appointment at Solomon Family Dentistry. My hygienist Tamson is friendly, professional, and efficient, and does an excellent job cleaning my teeth. I would definitely recommend the Solomon dental practice to anyone who is looking for a dentist in Charleston and the surrounding areas."
"My mother, Elsie Tant, was very satisfied with EVERYTHING and EVERYONE that helped her. We both LOVE Solomon Family Dentistry!"
"I have a two wisdom teeth pulled at Ft Sill, they gave me a topical and yanked the teeth out. I got 1 days quarters and back to basic training. Had another pulled at Schofield Barracks, basically same treatment, but 3 days quarters. MUSC pulled my last and it was a nightmare. Now I had a cracked lower, right, rear molar. The VA finally sent me to this dental office after 5 days of excruciating pain. And I'll tell you, this was the best experience I've ever had at a dental establishment! Extremely professional! Didn't feel the numbing needles, kept me informed through the whole procedure and I left with so much relief! Barely any pain after numbing wore off and I was finally able to get some sleep! I greatly appreciate getting me in quickly and rectifying my situation! You guys are tops at your game and will recommend you to anyone and everyone! Thank you and God Bless! "I used Fred Solomon throughout the years. The last time, before this recent incident, he literally ruined two of my crowned teeth, leading to my loss of those two teeth not long after. He was trying to drill off a permanent crown (we used to be told this could not be done). His drill slipped, ramming the crowned tooth next to that one. There was a slight chip in the top edge of that crown that forever after nagged me to death, even caught blueberry seeds, but the real problem was that it was knocked hard enough to create a permanent gap between the two crowns that was forever getting meat, especially, caught and packed between the two crowns. Very uncomfortable. Had to floss every time I ate ANYTHING. But flossing just pushed food UNDER both crowns, leading to decay and the loss of those teeth. I later left the state. When I moved back, I had to have all my remaining teeth pulled for dentures. I still planned to have Dr. Fred do this, but was told he would not use oral sedation. So I had to find someone else to do it. A year later, still could not get dentures to fit the bottom, due to the bone being broken up so badly. The dentist who had pulled 11 at one time now told me I wouldn't even be able to get implants OR bottom dentures. Bottom line, I returned to Dr. Fred to see what he recommended, what my options were at that point. I was told on the phone that there was no charge for a consultation. As I left, I was told I had to pay $67. I had only $51 cash and now wish I hadn't given him THAT. I was told I'd be billed for the rest, but I never was. This was 5 months ago, but if I happen to get a bill now, I will not give him another penny. I told the lady at the desk that I'd been told there would be no charge for this. Another girl walked back to ask Dr. Fred why I was being charged. I was told that even though I was told no charge before I came in, he was now charging me because I had not been back during those years I was out of state. So I was lied to on the phone ... nothing like that entered into it, period .... AND Dr. Fred had caused me to lose those two teeth when he rammed the tooth next to the one he was working on. I had gone back and told him I would lose those teeth because I HAD to floss due to the discomfort and the food that was pushed under those two teeth would of course cause decay ... and I did lose those two teeth not long after. The one he damaged, I'd spent a fortune over the years, having had a root canal and a crown that lasted decades until my gums receded and it fell off, then another crown (but NO decay after decades ... the best fitting crown I'd ever had, and now I had lost that tooth due to his drill slipping and ramming it, lost them BOTH due to that gap his "accident" created, after paying for two crowns each, 4 crowns total, what a waste ... and I also had paid him for putting pins in what remained under that crown he was removing .... had I known he was doing that, I would have chosen to just extract it, not being worth all that expense at that point, with another crown, too). I should never have gone back for his opinion on what my options were now. Took only a couple minutes to dole out his advise, which was that I needed to go consult with an oral surgeon. WOW ... for this he billed me! Two oral surgeons who gave me a REAL consultation did NOT bill me for a consult. I would never recommend Dr. Fred Solomon ever again."
