Orangeburg County YMCA (Call for Water Park Hours)

"As far as the Orangeburg YMCA, no staff really goes out of their way to help you. They do a good job giving you an initial tour and explain the different areas and what they are used for. I have no experience in using the gym Equipment and I guess the staff just assume that you know what you are doing and do not offer any guidance at all. The only thing that i did was swim."

"I read reviews so I figured I’d right one and hopefully save someone time and money. The kids area has a lot of algae growth on the only slide that they have open for the smaller kids and also in the lazy river. Not to mention they only have 9 floats available even if you wanted to go in that area and you have to have a float or you can’t get in. And they won’t give you a refund so don’t waste your money like we did."

"Overall was a good time. I was disappointed in that the bowl slide was only open for a half hour every 1 1/2 hours and they would not let anyone else go up the slide five minutes before the half hour was up. Also, I didn’t like that they wouldn’t let you bring food in the park when they didn’t even sell FOOD or DRINKS! They only had Italian Ice. My daughter and I were hungry and had to leave the park and come back. Also, the red slide was very slow."

"The facility has lots of different things to do for the whole family. For people with young children...child care is available. They have a huge gymnasium for basket ball...The facility also offers a gym with a modest amount of equipment and plenty of free weights...They have an Olympic sized indoor pool and large size jacuzzi.The group classes offered are pretty fun with encouraging instructors and they, by far, offer the most variety in the area. My only criticisms would be that the locker rooms need to be updated badly and the timing on the Friday-Sunday are a bit short. I also wish there was a steam room which is sorely lacking in such an impressive sized natatorium. It would also be nice if they had a small healthy cafe or something."
