"Just finished watching a clip of three of their deputies, violently violate a man civil rights on camera without a reasonable articulated suspicion and illegally searched his vehicle. I will never go to this county and risk getting this type of Southern hospitality. Any citizen of this county should buy a dashcam hide it, and never travel alone."

"I have been in the Effingham County Sheriff's Office several times with questions/concerns, and have never had a bad experience. The officers are all very kind and thoughtful, and I have personally seen several instances of them going out of their way to help people in the community (change a tire, jump-start a car, check on someone that was broken down on the side of the road, giving children toys, stickers, and badges, etc.). I am extremely thankful for the LEOs of Effingham! It's too bad Google doesn't do a better job removing trolls that simply try to harm someone else's reputation and dishonestly lower the rating. I live in Springfield currently, but have been in Effingham County for over 13 years, and have met and spoken with many of the officers. I know from personal experience that the members of our community in Law Enforcement do a great job. And Sheriff McDuffie is the best!"
