"Update on August 10, 2023: I'm updating my review to 1 star from 3 stars as in the process of trying to change dentists they informed me that since I have a balance due (from the appointment issue below where I was being charged for "being argumentative" for bringing up my pain that occurred after my fillings), they would not send my records. Not only should I not have a balance due, but I was informed by another dental office that this violates the AMERICAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION and HIPAA regulations. I'm upset that this practice went from a pleasant place to a place where I could not voice about my pain without being tacked on an additional cost and then trying to leave has been so much work. I hope I'm a rare occasion and this is not the norm for them, but I've never been treated like this at any place of business. Original post on July 11, 2023: This has been an upsetting experience. I need to start off by saying that up until today, I have received kind and good care. I did have some issues with being told inaccurate or left out info about what insurance would cover, but I need to take accountability for that and double check those things in case the people filing up front have a miss or are busy or whatever the reason may be. However, after getting two fillings between my molars, I had sharp pain when I would eat on that side, so I let it ride for two weeks in case it was just my teeth adjusting. It only got worse. When I went in and they took x rays, they said that they’d need to refer me to see a specialist. When I sensed that this would be on my dime, I tried to politely phrase that I did not have this pain before the fillings and this was new. That was immediately received as accusatory, and from then on I was cut off by the dentist every time I tried to better articulate that I just want to pursue whatever happened during the fillings to be rectified as this pain started the day after and has continued for three weeks now. That escalated from me being only charged for an x ray to being charged an emergency fee penalty because the dentist said I was “too argumentative” and that I was being dismissed as a patient. I was so thoroughly shut down that I’m left wondering how to explain to this man that I had pain now that was very much not there before the last appointment. He was so defensive that he verbally cut me off any chance he got in front of his staff and I was left there unable to even have an opinion that maybe something happened during the fillings and that my pain at that site is real. Between the choice to pay for the visit and pay for a referral to see what damage may or may not have been caused, I chose to not pay and take my dismissal. I hope it was just a bad day and this is not the norm, but personally I’d avoid any sort of fillings or anything major in case there may be a small (or big) mistake, because they are clearly not willing to hear anything like that, and you’ll pay fishing for what may have happened."
