Wingate by Wyndham Greenville Airport

"I had the most traumatic experience with this hotel. We travel a lot and the years we’ve had we never had such a horrible experience! We were asleep and the fire alarm went off. Not only did we panic, but the lady in the front was laughing and smiling saying that we needed to come to the front. After it was over we still didn’t get any explanation from what happened. No fire. Still don’t understand what happened. The bathroom tub was clogged we showered and the water wouldn’t drain. The bathroom was clean other than that."

"We stayed there as a last-minute situation, when we needed a place to stay while we were in Greenville, attending a concert. Looks like this hotel is going through a remodeling process. We were not impacted on any way by any construction noise or anything, but just setting the expectation because, for example, while the lobby looks lovely and welcoming for what it is, and while our room was fine, already remodeled, etc., my husband did go to the restroom in the lobby and, while it worked fine, no problems, it wasn’t updated yet (we were there early October 2023). This hotel is basically a nice, clean, quiet place to stay if you’re ’going through’ Greenville. It’s near the airport and has a shuttle to the airport and everything, which is great, and the team is very nice. It was a good value for what we paid when we needed to stay there, especially in comparison with other comparable hotels."

"Last year l gave this one 5 stars, but maybe they were on the ball a bit more because l gave them a heads up that l was a travel writer and would be reviewing it. I did not do that on this visit. This time, the staff wasn't friendly. I had to answer what felt like an interrogation as to why l needed extra towels. (There weren't enough in the room. Someone dropped the ball in housekeeping.) But the woman taking care of the breakfast area the next morning was downright rude and nasty. If l were a manager l would never allow someone to treat customers that rudely. Location and rooms were great though."

"The place is in a great spot... about all it had going for it. The bathroom mirror is cracked almost to the point of breaking off a chunk, bathroom door jam had a weird burn on it, shower curtain rod was loose to the point the curtain never fully enclosed the shower and no phone in the room. Also, a lamp in the corner of the room was unplugged when I checked in. Plus, one of the bedside lamps had a button that you practically had to punch to get to turn on. Elevators felt like they were going to fall into the shaft on every ride to and from the floor I was on. The breakfast was lackluster at best. Eggs were disgusting, only had orange juice, water and cranberry juice available (apple juice was never in the machine) and they didn't put out any fruit until Friday (today) which was my check out day. The housekeepers went into my room a day early on the 3 day rotation, threw my stuff in different spots all over the room and bathroom... when I brought this up to the desk clerk, there was nothing done about it. I've included pictures of the troubling things in the room and would not recommend this hotel. Staff were overall rude behind the desk. The guy running the breakfast bar in the mornings was cool as anything, and if you told him something was wrong, he was on it asap. He was the only good staff member I encountered. So, in short... great location, 1 cool guy working the breakfast bar, and the rest of the staff were rude and disrespectful. Not a place I'd choose to stay in ever again."
