"Have purchased from Meares before without a problem. In this auction the lot and photos were not what I received. Meares' said there was a mistake in uploading and an expensive item should have not been included. Would not refund the lot purchase price. Bait and switch on this one occasion."

"Over the years, we have made a number of purchases and up until the latest purchase a few weeks ago, all the Meares associates were very friendly and helpful. Not so much this last time. I received and e-mail notification at the auction close, advising of the pickup time range and location of the item. I arrived to pick up the item and was greeted by 2 ladies. One of which was helping load items into the back of an SUV. The other lady rudely asked me, "Do you have an appointment?" An appointment, the e-mail Meares sent didn't say anything about making an appointment, only providing a day and time window for pickups. We have made auction purchases from Meares and several other auction companies over the years, and have never been treated this rudely. Won't buy anything else from Meares and will share this unsatisfactory incident with our friends and neighbors. We spend our money with people who are nice to us and act like they appreciate our business. Meares failed on both counts."
