Sullivan's Metropolitan Grill

"Had a very enjoyable lunch today at Sullivan's Metropolitan Grill,our first visit to this restaurant. I loved the venue, with the interesting blend of vintage architectural elements with more modern elements and interesting artwork. However, due to the high ceilings and hard surfaces, the room did get quite loud as it filled with customers. The food was, for the most part, very good: flavorful, fresh, good portions and appropriately priced. There were two details that kept me from from giving a full five stars: my hand-cut fries were lukewarm and limp, as if fried in oil that was not the proper temperature, and the whipped cream on my companion's amazing Key Lime pie was liquefied, as if it was leftover from two days before. I don't think the pastry chef would find that acceptable if she saw it. The absolute BEST thing about our experience today, hands down, was our server, Amber. She was absolutely wonderful -- warm, personable and friendly but extremely professional. She was attentive without hovering over us and made us feel welcomed and valued. We will definitely request Amber the next time we dine there. And there WILL be a next time!"

"Food & service @ Sullivan's is always consistently very good. A great dinner place for that special occasion to celebrate with your spouse or friends. Lobster bisque is a must if you like it. Not required but I recommend that you make reservations. Lastly, they have awesome deserts that never disappoint. A great display case of them to use in making your selection. If you haven't ever eaten here give it a try and you won't regret it."

"The building is beautiful with wood floors and beautiful staircase leading to the second floor. Our waitress was thorough but did acknowledge it was too busy for her to be as attentive as she would like to be. As the evening progressed it was very loud and difficult to hear the people at our table. Our table ordered scallops (not seared enough), fried green tomatoes (very good) and pork belly (good) for appetizers. I ordered the TWIN FILET AU POIVRE for my entree. It was delish, and could have easily been split with a person as I had 2/3 left on my plate. Overall, I give 5 stars because I think it’s probably one of the best options in Anderson for a nice, celebratory meal or date night."

"This was a nice find as I was traveling for work and stayed in Hartwell, GA. The restaurant has a nice open floor plan, spacious and nicely decorated with wood floors. The Goat Cheese fritters were good. The pan sautéed salmon was cooked to perfection as it was topped with shrimp and a creamy sauce. I made reservations for 1 to celebrate my birthday and placed this in the reservation. However, it was not mentioned. So, if celebrating an occasion, be sure to verbalize this upon arrival. I will revisit when in the area."
