"Outstanding place to come relax on a nice sunny day and paddleboard any time of the year. Mike at the shop is fantastic and was very helpful. Highly recommend"
"We stayed at South Cove County Park in our fifth wheel last week and had the best week! The campground was very clean, reasonably priced, and everyone at South Cove was very nice. We rented a boat over the weekend from Lake Keowee Boat Rentals which was recommended from the office. They brought the boat right to the dock at South Cove which was super convenient. We will most definitely be back again! We had a spectacular experience from start to finish!"
"We tent camped 3 nights over Labor Day weekend. First things first, the views and lake access from the tent sites are second to none. You have your own private beach access. It is red clay, so it can be slippery it is also rocky. So bring lake shoes and you'll be fine. The tent camping locations are on the smaller side, so you're really close to your neighbors. There are park rules, no alcohol but that didn't stop anyone from enjoying an adult beverage. Quiet time starts at 10 pm, but that didn't stop people from sitting around the fire at 2am. Talking and laughing really loud. That's not the parks' fault, tho. The bathrooms and showers were clean, and the showers were surprisingly good. It was just a short walk from the camp site as well. The camp store on site has everything you need, from bundles of wood to smores supplies, very fairly priced. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will be returning for future getaways."
"Camp sites are small and very close together. There were cigarette butts from previous campers laying on the ground in quantity on my site. I would give less than 3 but the area is beautiful and the water was great. For the short afternoon I stayed to enjoy it. Telling me my well trained and behaved dog that is minding its business and staying where it belongs swimming with me that I must leash it on a 6 ft leash or less. Also no problem. The problem I have is that you waited until I had been there all day and numerous other unleashed dogs had wandered into my site to tell me what I needed to do for my dogs own protection. Thanks. Won't be back. You have rules fine. You need to enforce them evenly and consistently. And I don't think my Rottweiler needs instructions on protecting. Dog is also service trained, but she was on vacation so didn't bother to pull that card. I'll just go somewhere more welcoming."
"This public park has an entrance fee to stay the entire day. The restrooms were clean and the playground was very fun for my 5 and 3 year old. The beach area was mostly covered with duck droppings but once you pass that the water is pretty cool and clean-no debris. My favorite part is that there are life jackets for everyone from babies to adults. Minus the duck droppings everywhere, we had lots of fun! Bring sunscreen!"
