Reviews of Central-Clemson Recreation Center
"We had a very positive experience with swim lessons! However, the website information is not updated and they no longer offer day passes. A heads up just incase you plan to go or take your kids."
"Very disappointed in the complete lack of community center support with the pickle ball price increase. Not only were the pickle ball players expected to move the bleachers out of the way, bring equipment, and move bleachers back, but why even open the price increase up for community discussion if there was ZERO intent to listen? $40 a month for a membership to only play in designated times 3 days a week is a rip off! And $7 for non members will just discourage anyone new from joining. It’s disappointing when a community center forces “members” to do the work for them and pay on top of that."
"Not a very pickle ball friendly facilty. Highest rates in state and you must set up your own nets. Weight room small and not convenient hours. Would not recommend.not conv"
"It's a nice Rec center. I'm not sure if it's funded by Clemson University, like everything else is in that area, but it's definitely more funded than any other in Pickens County. Has a pool, at least 2 basketball courts that are also used for volleyball, and a weight room or something up stairs, and looked like they offer different cardio classes as well. It would be 5 stars but several parents for the home team were very unsportsmanlike so I'll give the facility a 4 because it really is nice. Verbal abuse shouldn't be tolerated even if it is your kid. FYI I'm not one of those sappy parents that doesn't think games should be scored. There's got to be a winner and a loser. Helps prepare for life, but let the coach do their job and actually help the kids but the parents need to stay out of it. They would've been asked to leave in Pickens. If you want to help your kid get better then support them by practice at home and let the coach do her job at the game... Remember everyone is there for fun. With that said I'll get off my soap box and say "Go Pickens!!!! ""
"Great rec center! Nice staff, nice members, enthusiastic class instructors and inexpensive no hassle day passes. The weights and cardio rooms are combined which is nice because there is always a mix of people around. I think women feel less intimidated to use the weights if they aren't off in a separate room populated by a bunch of ripped guys and no women. The facility is kept clean and always has ample parking. My only complaint is they don't offer any classes on the weekend."
