"I definitely recommend Pacific Delight Tours. I spent a long time looking for the right agency to plan our private family trip of 10 people to China. We were very happy Pacific Delight Tours, specifically the office located in Flushing, NY. I spoke with them often via phone and email, and since we are from New York, we also met with them several times at their office in person. I liked that their office is legit and they were always very responsive to our family's many questions and concerns. Charmaine (manager) and Adrienne (our group booking agent) were patient and made sure our tour was exactly what we wanted. They helped us with every detail and did everything from getting our VISAs to making customized group travel arrangements for the 7 cities we visited in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Xian, Guangzhou, Taishan, and Zhangjiajie). PDT handled all the hotels, inter-china flights, bus and rail transportation (we wanted to try out a high speed train), bus drivers, English speaking tour guides, activities, entrance fees, and meals for each city. Each guide met us at the airport and also when it was time to leave, went with us to the airport as an English to Chinese translator for the airport ticket counters and made sure all of our bags were checked. Basically PDT handled everything for us, so we didn't have to think. PDT is a mid priced agency and you get what you pay for. They were well worth the $, especially for a completely private, customized tour. Small tip: China is very different and has VERY different standards than the US. It is worth it to upgrade to 5 star hotels. We tried to balance spending and booked 4 star hotels for 2 cities and regretted it for Xian (our least favorite city). Traveling often, we have reasonably high standards for hotels and the 5 star hotels PDT booked were nice and well worth the extra $ (keep in mind we are talking China standards). The only thing I do not recommend is booking pre-determined meals. Being spoiled by New York food and traveling often, we did not like many of the tourist restaurants (except in Zhangjiajie and Guangzhou, the guides for those cities went the extra mile for us for meals). Btw, JOHNSON, our tour guide for Zhangjiajie by far exceeded our expectations! Our guides for Beijing and Guangzhou were good as well. For Xian and Shanghai they were average but sufficient for our needs. Anyways, each city is different in the culture, types of people, and types of food they serve. But once the PDT office in NY found out we were unhappy about the food or something, they were very accommodating. If you never been to China, expect that much of China is very different than what us westerners were used to. I also recommend PDT for the VISA process. They did all of our VISAs. We also had trouble getting a VISA for a few of us and Charmaine and the PDT team went above and beyond to help us with it. They were well worth the money and saved us the time of going back and forth to the consulate. We will reach out to the Pacific Delight Tours office in New York again to book future trips. Both Charmaine and Adrienne were a pleasure to work with. I've also recommended them to our family and friends."
