Reviews of Discount Tire
"Really friendly and helpful. I came in only intending to replace two tires- one flat and the other with an air bubble- even though the remaining two were also in unsafe condition. They worked with me to find the most affordable way to get all four tires replaced so I could drive safely again. The wait time wasn't too long and all in all, I'm very appreciative of the work they did for me."
"Upon pulling in, it was unclear of instructions of what to do and where to go, so I followed a sign that said something along the lines of, “Honk before entering.” I was met with a man who was sort of unpleasant and responded with an eye roll, “You’re supposed to park then go inside and ask for help.” User error on my part or better signage could help, but a little kindness goes a long way, especially in customer-facing jobs. I parked and went inside and was met by an associate who was quick to assist me. He was knowledgeable and checked my other tires to cover all of his bases. Typical upselling conversations ensued, which is the name of the game in stores like this. However, the conversation was not pushy or condescending like other auto repair places I’ve visited—genuine concern for the customer and helpful advice on car maintenance. As someone who knows NOTHING about cars, any and all advice is greatly appreciated. When it came to checkout, I was presented options, rather than a pressure to buy one specific brand of tire. I was given options that would work for my vehicle and given explanations of price. This was extremely helpful because I now know why I’m paying what I’m paying, plus an itemized receipt to show exactly how every penny is used. Waiting was pleasant, with free wifi, coffee, clean restrooms, and comfortable seating. I received a text message on the completion of my service, but I was met with about 5-10 more minutes of waiting for my car to be pulled around. While this is a small detail, it still has an effect on customer perception. If my car is done, I should have my car pulled around and ready to hop in, not waiting another ten minutes. Overall, it was a good experience, but minor improvements could be made for ease of customer experience."
"(WILL CHANGE THE RATING ONCE RECTIFIED) I went to have new rear tires installed on my car last night at the Discount Tire on Conargee Rd. When I checked in, I had given the gentleman at the front desk my BMW OEM wheel lock key. My customer experience was really good until one of the tire technicians called me out to the bay to show me something. He explained that he and the other technician had used an impact wrench to loosen the locked wheel stud with the key. They should have used a breaker bar to at least break the torqued down stud loose because it spun the teeth off of the wheel lock key and now they are stuck in the stud, and the wheel cannot come off. They showed my how their method miraculously worked on the other side of the car, but now they cannot re-install that stud because the key is stripped. The technicians profusely apologized (the manager did not) and explained that I need to go to the BMW dealer (who is booked several days out), have them remove the stripped bolt and replace the wheel key set, and then bring the receipt back to them for reimbursement when I return to have my tires installed properly. I left dissappointed, and ultimately scared, because now I had to drive my car home on 4 lug nuts on one of the back wheels, which is extremely unsafe. While I am grateful that the technicians offered the bare minimum (to have their insurance policy make things right), I find it would ultimately be fair to credit me the warranty certificates I opted not to purchase. This is equitable given the extra time and hassle out of my busy university schedule I now have to rectify your technicians' mistake. Hopefully you can help me to right this, as I have been a loyal Discount Tire customer for several years now, and I really don't want this sour experiece to make me take my business elsewhere."
"Excellent experience here today. Very attentive and friendly customer service. Very efficient process. Appointment reminders are great. They will text you when your car is done. The manager RJ stopped me on the way out to ask for honest feedback about my experience and shared that they have really been working on customer service from start to finish. It shows. Thanks. I’ll be back."
"My recent encounter with this discount tire service left me quite dissatisfied. Initially, I had placed an order for my tires at Costco, but due to an urgency, I required them to be installed sooner than Costco could accommodate. Upon my arrival, an associate named Alex began inquiring about the source of my tires, which was perfectly reasonable. However, these questions soon evolved from innocent curiosity into a persistent line of questioning, including inquiries about the price I paid, the specific deals offered by Costco, and a constant reminder that I didn't save any money doing it this way. What began as harmless curiosity quickly transformed into an irritating experience, making me feel uncomfortable and frustrated."
