"This tour was such a great experience I learned a lot thank you!"
"As a film and video production assistant, I had the opportunity of working on a television special entitled "The Gate Maker", a biography about Phillip Simmons with examples of his work. I also had the honor of meeting Mr Simmons during this endeavor and was invited to attend his birthday party, honoring him at the Charleston Visitors Center. He was wonderful, talented and kind man. He created many lovely Gates and Railings in Charleston, South Carolina."
"This man went to my church many years ago. He did the iron on my house as a little girl. Nice, gentle and kind man he was"
"Had a great tour of the house today with Bernice who was so sweet and gave us great information. We got to see the house, his and his nephew’s work, and a small gift shop. Also got to see Philip’s office and workshop which is still in use today. The front house was occupied by family and you can see artwork in the cement by Philip. Highly recommend this as part of the true Charlestonian history experience. You need to walk down the small drive to the side of the main house to get to the smaller house museum."
"This historical site is the best! Raw, natural, perfect! And such a great American success story!"
