"Since 2006 whenever I have a need for a true travel professional to help design a trip in Italy and Greece I contact Andiamo. For over 40 years I have been in the travel field, booking travel for both pleasure as well as corporate and I've never been disappointed with the service that Theresa Doyle and her staff have provided. They consistently provide a superior product: their drivers and cars are top drawer, their guides are both professional and personal and everyone is so well versed in the area that they work it ends up as (several of my clients refer to) a 'magical experience!'. I personally used Andiamo for a trip a couple of years ago when my husband and I toured the Mediterranean. Theresa provided a car and guide for a day trip we had in Florence - my husband still speaks of our guide as the best we've had anywhere --anytime. It was a tremendous day, our private car and driver met us just outside the ship we were sailing on, drove us to the prearranged rally point, handed us off to the guide and then reappeared at the scheduled time. Time and time again I have used Andiamo for my clients and they always give them the best of compliments. Last year was a complete nightmare in the travel industry. I was constantly on the phone with clients and tour operators cancelling, rescheduling, rebooking and working with Theresa was a breath of fresh air. Far too many TOs were working with no cash flow coming in and no refunds from some of the folks they had booked and prepaid. It was basically a nightmare -- Andiamo worked tirelessly with me to insure that my clients were well taken care of. We had many phone conversations early during the pandemic at all hours to provide the best possible service to my clients. This review should of been sent during the 4th quarter of last year and I have been remiss. Again, I do not hesitate to recommend Andiamo and personally use them for my clients without any doubts."
"I was planning on using this tour company to plan a trip to Italy for myself and my family but after reading the above reviews I will go with another company. How can you not return a deposit when there was a pandemic. No one could travel to Italy, return the money! So many decent tour companies so I certainly won’t use this one."
"We booked an Italy tour January 28, 2020 with Andiamo. Our travel date was in October 2020. In the beginning of February 2020 Italy had its first cases of Covid and in March 2020 Italy's borders closed down to the world. We gave Andiamo a deposit and signed a contact stating that if we were to cancel we would lose $600.00 ($300.00 per person). We waited as did the rest of the world hoping that Italy would reopen its borders to travelers from the United States. By July 2020 realizing that Italy wasn't opening up for travel anytime soon and our flights to Italy were already canceled and fully refunded, we asked Andiamo for a full refund of $1897.50 as well. They sent us back $1397.50, keeping $500.00. I emailed them and asked why under these unprecedented circumstances would you keep $500.00? I was told they were holding onto the $500.00 because they put "a lot of work into the tour" - but I could use it in the near future for a trip to Europe. As of now (May 2020) ITALY IS STILL NOT FULLY OPENED TO U.S. citizens. I emailed Andiamo and explained that I received a FULL REFUND back to my credit card from the airlines, rental car company, travel insurance company and Villa that we rented. The only company that refused to fully reimburse us under these trying times due to covid was Andiamo. Yes - we signed a contract stating that they could hold $300.00 per person if we were to cancel. WE DID NOT CANCEL - the WORLDWIDE EPIDEMIC canceled and changed the lives of millions. Other companies saw fit, under the circumstances, not to follow "the letter of the law or contract" and fully refunded us. This company feels that they are not required to do the same - SHAME ON YOU ANDIAMO! I would not recommend this company for any travel tours - BUYER BEWARE! THIS IS IN RESPONSE TO ANDIAMO'S REPLY: We would like to clarify items mentioned in Andiamo's response. First off, we DID speak directly to Theresa from Andiamo on Monday July 27, 2020. She stated that she just got home from a medical procedure. She offered a "future travel credit" of the $500.00 that they were holding onto which we could use until THE END OF 2021. Who knew when Italy was going to open, to what degree would they be opened, as well as how safe would it be to travel to that region - these are all unanswered questions! Yes, we had to cancel our ITINERARY because THE AIRLINE COMPANY canceled flights because Italy shut down to outside travel. Regarding why we chose not to file an insurance claim - we did not file a claim because every company that we dealt with DIRECTLY refunded our payments in FULL. Including the travel insurance company who refunded us our full payment of $768.00. The travel insurance representative thought it would be a good idea for us to request refunds from each vendor directly. We took his advice and it worked out perfectly. Every vendor, except Andiamo returned all monies in FULL (including $768.00 from the insurance company). If we went through the insurance company, we would forfeit the $768.00, it seemed like a "no brainer"! Once again, these are unprecedented times, all the other companies that we dealt with felt the same way. They wanted to continue with good customer service and understood that being "flexible" keeps the consumer happy. The business policies of the other companies (airlines, insurance company, car rental, airbnb villa) were also very strict and rigid. However, once we explained to them individually as to what occurred, they ALL understood and showed good customer relations and service by refunded our money in full. They did not say "WE STAND BY OUR DECISION" - they realized that this isn't "black and white" - but a "gray area" and they "did the right thing"! We are just stating the FACTS as to our experience with Andiamo - as far as "harming their reputation" - that is up to the well educated consumer to decide."
"I had just gotten back from a trip to Paris that I had booked with Andiamo. The trip was just delightful. The transportation from hotels to tour ran smoothly, promptly on time. The Latin Quater Food Tour plus the Siene Dinner Cruise was absoluteltly remarkable. I for one can be picky eater, but I can tell you I did not leave that tour hungry or unhappy. Always hear about the cheese, chocolate and wine from the city and to actually have tried it; it lived up to the expectations I had. The lavendar field in Provence was eye catching, quiet remarkable. The field looks like it can go on forever. It was such a pleasure to be able to see nature so beautiful in a different country and the background of the fields. The color of the field was spellbidning. Another favorite part of my trip was the tour at the D'Orsay Museum. It had one of my favorite artist work displayed there, the art work that you can't see anywhere else. Overall the trip that I booked with Andiamo was a memorable one. I look foward to booking more trips with you."
"Last week, I was a part of an Italy tour package. The description listed a skip the line at The Last Supper, a visit to The Castle in Milan, tram ride, and shopping. I requested a partial refund because no tram ride or shopping was offered to me at all. The company contacted the tour guide, who acknowledged this fact. One person on the tour, who later discontinued, may have had difficulty with the walking, but I paid for the entire tour. I have zero responsibility for others on the tour. When a company listens singularly to a guide in a foreign country and totally disregards the experience of a paying customer, I would NEVER recommend Andiamo!"
