"Favorable amenities, overpriced and very poor management. Amenities include two pools, two gyms and two clubhouses for resident access. I recently left after a 6 month lease in the meadows, the tiny towable part of the community, also known as a glorified RV park. $825/month with a 6 month lease minimum or $900+ month to month. All utilities are included except internet. Larger park models (400+ sq Ft) are available in the village and hamlet, where not all utilities are included. Lot rent there is nearly $700 or more monthly depending on location in the community. And you must rent or purchase your own home in addition monthly lot rent. Management is the reason for not buying in the village or renting out our towable in the meadows. They went from helpful, kind and community centered to abrupt, condescending and matter of fact. The office is run by General Manager Jennifer Earley who has restricted hours, a demeaning personality and will YELL at you over the phone when her judgment is questioned. There is a two hour window Monday through Friday where residents can walk-in, voice concern or ask questions. Or you must call and hope they are willing to take your call to schedule an appointment. Talk about a “no open door policy.” I’ve personally rented from many corporate managed housing communities in my time and while I thought this one was much different, I was mistaken. It was played off as simple lifestyle, resident centered and locally managed. In reality it’s a corporate monster run by people in Florida. My last bit to share came from move out. Upon turning in my gate remote, my gate codes were disabled despite my lease terminating the following day. This left me without access to the community and they refused to turn them back over the phone. Jennifer also stated I came in demanding my security deposit refund at that time, which simply wasn’t true. My previous rental history would tell you it does take a few weeks for a security deposit refund. During these encounters I was YELLED at by phone when questioning management actions and was refused contact information for the chief operating official in their corporate world. After digging through the internet, I was able to get in touch with the COO by email where my story could be heard. The COO Andrew attempted to smoosh over the situation by defending the staff that ‘HE’ hired, but it’s evident management certainly needs some education and training on how to treat fellow residents. If you’re into feeding corporate greed America and poor management, this is the community for you! During my week of move out three other meadows residents mentioned to us why they were also leaving. A 10%+ rent increase and poor management. But, don’t take my word for it, you can always experience it yourself. There are plenty of other places to park your tiny on wheels. I personally recommend locally owned and managed Acony Bell near Mills River, NC or Lakewood RV resort in the same neighborhood. Best of luck out there!"
"RUN AWAY! $825 per month for tiny home lot rent is ridiculous. Rude community management staff. This corporate owned community takes advantage of those looking for a basic life. They increased everyone’s rent by 10% and people are moving out. **I recommend the Acony Bell tiny home community which is nearby, much more affordable, locally owned by an individual (not an out-of-state corporate), and appears to be incredibly well managed.** Simple Life Management staff even deactivated our gate access into the community before our lease expired. Management constantly writes demeaning emails to the residents while keeping their office doors locked, except during limited hours which are convenient for them personally. That is not how you do business. The previous community manager was very pleasant to deal with, but it is obvious those values did not align with Simple Life’s strict profit-driven anti-resident business model. There are several other tiny home living options in the area which are locally-owned and affordable. While we will certainly miss our friendly neighbors, we had to escape being mistreated by Simple Life."
"It was great. Our tour guide was so helpful and nice. We walked around in that was enjoyable because the grounds are beautiful but then we got in the golf cart and drove around. They have great amenities and everything is kept up to perfection. You can see the inside of different options in style and square footage. It's a fun day trip even if you're not going to buy a tiny house.bb"
"I purchased my home last November as a new build. Any issues I had were quickly addressed and taken care of. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful which I appreciate as a single woman. It's a beautiful and peaceful environment, safe for walking and meeting neighbors in the street. And I feel very very safe there."
"Very grateful for the opportunity to visit & tour this lovely community of tiny homes! We are eager to see what our future can bring us & recommend this friendly, simple living family! Thank you to Liz and staff for their dedicated time, professionalism and knowledge of simple life!"
