"DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. They deserve NO stars!!! We bought a boat from them and in the process, we had them put new flooring and seats in our pontoon. Was told it would be approximately $7,000. They wanted $5,000 upfront for material which we paid. About 2 months later, they called and wanted more money…. $6,000 MORE! We went to their shop and nothing had been done except the subflooring. We asked for an itemized bill and they had inflated items such as the canopy and the step ladder. We told them to just leave it off and just do the work in which had already paid for the material. We left with an itemized bill and owing $2,700….. and in the mean time we found out the boat they sold us had faulty wiring and was a fire hazard. Finally, after 7 MONTHS, we demanded our pontoon back. Apparently they hadn’t done any work on it and hired someone else to complete it. They added additional labor charge to pay the person they hired and we refused to pay it. We had to get law enforcement involved to get our boat because they locked us in the fence when we refused to pay additional labor when NO additional work was done. When Law enforcement showed up, they presented yet ANOTHER altered bill and had changed the price of the subflooring and taken off the additional labor charge. Law enforcement made them let us leave because we had the original bill and you could clearly see where these crooks had altered the bill. Later that night, we got a text from the person they hired…. These folks told him WE WERE PAYING him! Unbelievable…. Don’t trust these people. They smoke way too much pot to have the mentality to run a business!"

"UPDATE May 2021...I just got my boat back from a couple of repairs George needed to do...same excellent result as last time! Angela and George are great people to work with. Angela carefully writes down what needs to be done, and George is around to consult with if needed. I am very pleased with Lakeside Repair!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Spring 2020 I just had my boat worked on, and let me tell you I am a finicky and exacting kind of person that looks at the details of wherever I have anything worked on. Lakeside runs a very professional operation. Angela does a very nice job writing up the work order, and George will come out and talk over what needs to be done, all with a smile on his face. I left my boat (18' Aries with an older Johnson 150), and got a call a little later from Angela telling me what the situation was and what the options were for repair. Angela ordered the parts and by the next day George had adjusted the reverse on the motor and installed a new steering setup...compete. In one day. Very reasonable cost for the repairs. I will be taking my boat there for whatever needs I might have for it. I trust these people, and you can too."

"I purchased a 1993 Ebbtide from Lakeside Repair for $6300 on June 12th, 2020. I took it 5 minutes away and launched it at the bridge in Waterloo. Ten minutes in the water and the motor would not push the boat and the steering box went out. I had to call Lakeside and take the boat back. Sat in the car for an hour while he attempted to fix it. He said the was fix. The next weekend we took it to lake Thurmond took it out for about 30 minutes and stopped to swim and when we got back on the boat to.leave the motor wouldn't lower. We were stuck on the boat for two hours. It also started taking.on.water and when we got it on the trailer drained water for 23 minutes. I took the boat back and ask for my money back and he said there is a 15% restocking fee. These people are thrives annd have no clue about working on boats. I don't know how he stays in business. Do not buy a boat from them or let them work on your boats."

"The owner himself is one of the rudest people i have every encountered. Horrible attitude and language towards his employee. Then gets beyond upset when he is told that the employee does not appreciate his attitude. He expects you to pretty much be able to read his mind and what he is thinking. If your in need of good employment. This is definitely NOT it. I warn you to stay away from this place for employment opportunity. You are only wasting your time."

"I rated Lakeside as a 1 since 0 was not an option. I have never dealt with people so rude and arrogant. Now I know why they could get to my boat right away, because no one can deal with them or trust them to work on their boat. The man I spoke to( I assume the owner/mechanic) threw his hand in the air and ran inside when I asked him some clarification questions. I asked him if that meant he was going to work on my boat, and he said I was wasting his time. And he said that if he did work on it, not to call ask bother his wife to see if it was ready. Well....I backed out of his business and will never return. I would suggest you stay clear of this place as well."
