Reviews of Northwest Bank
"I've worked for this location so my experience is this location and people around at this time. All I wanted to do was my job and live my life but retail attitudes and personal biases led me to leave. This environment was toxic from the talking of “inner city thugs” to people telling me that I needed to be “more uppity.” I had someone on the staff telling me that a Netflix show called “They Cloned Tyrone” reminded them of me. I didn't like it. I approached every customer and employee as if it was business. As a black person, the same person who hired me told me that they could've chosen from many and she made a mistake all because I brought up the topic that I felt I wasn't being trained to the basic duties of my task, which is indefinitely inappropriate. Especially when I saw the staff having a pattern of telling black people they needed to make appointments for open checking accounts or notaries but never for whites. As a personal banker I stepped up to be a teller when they needed it and even went to other locations when the company needed it. It wasn't in my job description but I looked at it as a commitment. But the moment when I realized through the snickering and gossip of employees that they didn't want me there, I left. The company is an entity and owners and employees are the forefront. I can't push the products of narrow minded because you’ll miss out on opportunities especially I would notice eye rolling and staring a cross the room when I worked with my people. The reason why black people have a hard time working is all the systematic issues within this country. I don't care what black person they put here or there. It's probably for their inclusion index score but. The way I was treated, the “jokes” and comments I heard is something that will always be on the back of my mind. As I ask myself what did do to deserve this, I say because I believed “nipping” things in bud would cause me issues. This branch didn't treat me how I wanted to treated. A person that wanted to work and keep everything business. I refuse to work alongside people who think it’s alright to treat me or my people differently! So I quit! This is a shame and they need to find a shinebone that doesn’t have respect for themselves!"
"The in-person staff are great people. However, if you told me that the customer service for Northwest had a secret employee who actively made my experience with them as difficult as possible, I wouldn't be surprised in any way. Forced password changes constantly. Loses contact with my venmo somehow so I can't send money. Mobile deposits will fail for terrible reasons such as "a corner of the paper was out of the shot." I've had to use an LED Headlamp to illuminate checks to successfully deposit because their mobile deposit camera control and brightness are utter garbage. The mobile app is trash to the point that I use the desktop website on mobile instead. Their debit cards are flimsy and don't even have tap to pay last time I got one. If you need a decent bank, enlist in the Army and get Navy Federal. You'll have FAR less hassle than you would with Northwest."
"This bank has been amazing for me and my company. Always going beyond what other banks would do. Gretchen will make sure you are taken care of to the fullest as she does for me."
"Mobile banking does not work. Now they want a $3.00 "paper statement fee" for EACH account for every month they send you a paper statement...no mention of it in secure message portal...then I go to check the "Statements" tab to update my communication preferences and get an Authentication Error on the mobile app and the site. Northwest is awful. Do yourself a favor and go to M&T"
"Worst customer service. I cant get my business account switched over fast enough. Sneaky lying employees and assistant manager. Looking for a bank for your small business, avoid Northwest. Its as if your business means nothing to these people."
