"They were closed due to the COVID, but I will be visiting again when they reopen. Lots of parking, grounds and the building looks well taken care of from the outside. They do have a free small library in the front. Easy to locate with your GPS. Lots of AAM History in the Clemson area and the College. Dont forget about the free 29 acre SC Botanical Gardens! Nest time I visit the area, I will be wandering to the down town shopping area."
"I would have given 5 stars, but it's very small. They need more space. The exhibits interesting and the employe was very informative. He's a great oral historian. I would like to see them expand."
"My husband and I were trilled to learned about the Clemson Area African American Museum (CAAAM) from a friend of ours. We were not aware of an African American museum in the area. We immediately drove from Elberton, Georgia to Clemson, South Carolina to visit the museum. We are on the board of directors of the Jim-Ree African American Museum in Elberton, Georgia and enjoy visiting other museums to see how they run and function. The staff at CAAAM is composed of volunteers who take turns, acting as docents to keep the museum open to the public. The volunteers are also responsible for rotating and changing the displays. This one room museum is packed with interesting artifacts. It is a must see."
"My husband and I went to the museum for an event they hosted on local African American history. The volunteers were so kind and informative, and the event was amazing. I wish we had more time to see everything they had to offer! We'll definitely be back."
"Many great artifacts but just missing Althea Gibson she was a native of SC and Lt. Col Spann Watson who was a Tuskegee Airmen"
