"Im a member here for years Middle of winter I go in turn my change in with my hood over my head give the teller my receipt and bank card clearly showing my name and I’m a member and she prcocced to ask me to remove my hood because I looked “suspicious” go to altamont Ave they would never ask a member to remove clothing"
"Longtime member of Sunmark Credit Union who moved out of state. My husband & I were victims of debit card fraud. After 3 weeks of not having any bank cards, or being reimbursed for the theft, we are transferring our money out of Sunmark to a local bank. Super disappointed in Sunmark's response."
"!!!!AVOID SUNMARK LOANS!!!! Received a letter from Sunmark informing me that I had missed a scheduled loan payment. Within that letter they were threatening late fees and credit bureau involvement. I thought, "Yikes...had I missed a payment"? I went into my online banking account to investigate and it turns out that Sunmark had in fact received payment, but showed no record of the transaction. I called the Sunmark customer support line and spoke to one of the rudest and most dismissive individuals I have ever encountered - Lauren Demarco. She was quite firm in her stance of not receiving said payment and instructed me on what needed to be done on my end: Provide proof of payment, in-person before there was a 30 day lapse, at which point they would involve the credit bureau. I asked to speak to a supervisor to discuss how they would be compensating me for their error and my time...I was told that I could not speak to a supervisor, nor would they offer me any restitution. I let Lauren know that if I couldn't speak to a supervisor that I would be forced to drive to their office (over an hour away) at which point I would demand a supervisor. Lauren's response, was to threaten me with a compliance officer getting involved...Classy. We ultimately decided to conference call in a member of my bank, which is Keybank. Amazing to see Lauren's tone change once a member of Keybank informed her that they did in-fact have proof of that payment processing. Lauren suddenly became bubbly and friendly. In the end, Sunmark messed up and would have pocketed my loan payment. You would assume that Lauren would then want to atone for the negligence of Sunmark....nope. Never even an apology. She exchanged pleasantries with the Keybank employee and hung up. Now that's customer service! What a joke. FACTS: - Sunmark processed the disputed payment 18 days before it was due and 24 days before the letter was sent - Sunmark denied error on their part, repeatedly - Sunmark required an in-person delivery of my disputed check - Sunmark continuously threatened late fees and credit bureau involvement throughout the duration of the exchange - Sunmark customer service rep. Lauren Demarco, doesn't understand what true customer service looks like - Sunmark doesn't view my $40K loan as "supervisor worthy" - Lauren Demarco will not apologize for wrong-doing even when presented with the facts of her organizations error This is the second issue I have had with Sunmark loan services. Apparently this financial service struggles handling finances?! and the consumer is the loser. Spare yourself the time and aggravation of working with such an inept and rude organization. I am transitioning my loan away from Sunmark to Keybank. Thank you Keybank! for showing me what a great and respectful financial institution should look like."
"Went there on 6/9/23, spoke with Del. Going there to get approved for a car loan on that same day. (I never had prior business with Sunmark) to my amazement and satisfaction, it happened. (This was a Friday close to the end of business hours) It was due to Del's diligence, exemplary Cust Ser skills and genuine willingness to resolve, that all was accomplished. I was impressed, extremely satisfied, and looking forward to doing future business with Sunmark, also recommending your Services to friends and colleagues. My experience with Del will be engraved in my mind, for it was the definition of outstanding Cust Ser, an Art that has been lost. If Del is the representation of Sunmark as a whole, it speaks very highly. Kudos to Catherine also who was awesome."
"I've been a member for near 40 years, yet when I tried to consolidate credit cards into one payment, because I was 2 to 3 weeks late on 2 of them, they wouldn't help. Since they moved from lower Guilderland ave years ago, they have done nothing for me. I took out a few loans at the other place, no problems, paid in full, all dates of payment fulfilled. This place would not even grant me a personal loan. I was earning the same if not more amt. Of money, but they told me my income was the problem. All they ever do for me is cash my checks and supply bank checks. I find nothing to boast about."
