"Keepin it real out here in Downtown Flushing Flower shop: We bought our wedding flower arrangement from here, very easy to work with! Tofu/breakfast spot: I went back 2 weeks randomly to try the breakfast. The owner / operator is super nice. I sat there quietly and once I striked up a conversation, the owner was so glad to chat about everything from his interest in flowers to the years he's been running the business. He even told me anthony bourdain visited his shop few months before passing. Long Live Soy Bean Chan!"
"I would love to know how people are even ordering any food. I walked in the shop yesterday and the Chinese aunties were just talking amongst themselves and didn’t even look my way even though I was clearly looking around confused, because I thought that this place sells tofu, soy milk, mantou, but it didn’t look like anybody was selling anything because the Chinese aunties were just chatting amongst themselves, and anyone else that worked in the flower part of the shop did not say anything to me or my partner while we were there. It was a very strange experience and made me feel left out. When I stepped outside again to make sure I was at the right place, I saw the little ordering hole and the menu for the food area of this place, I walked back in and still the Chinese aunties were just chatting amongst themselves. I am not a shy person, but I did not want to interrupt them to get their attention either. Did I have to start doing jumping jacks to get their attention?? This made this place come off as rude and like they don’t care about customers. I assume I came in on an off day since the reviews rave about the tasty offerings and nice old couple(which I did not see). The plant portion of the shop does not offer as much as I hoped, because I wanted a String of Pearls succulent but they did not have much besides bamboo. If I want bamboo then MAYBE I’ll come back. If I want tofu pudding or mantou, I will go elsewhere where people actually want to sell their food."
"The sweet tofu pudding with ginger syrup is so delicious. The tofu has a wonderfully soft and silky texture. And the shop is run by a lovely elderly couple who are incredibly sweet!"
"The cutest shop in flushing ran by the cutest and nicest man. He sells fresh tofu pudding and soy milk which were delicious. Prices are super affordable (for reference, we paid $6.50 for a large soy milk and a small tofu pudding) and we highly recommend anyone to visit and support this local business."
"Love this shop! The owners are so sweet and welcoming and their plants and floral arrangements are the best! I highly recommend getting the tofu. I got the sweet tofu and it was so soft and creamy plus it comes with a light honey which pairs incredibly well. Will definitely come back!"
