Reviews of University Sport Shop
"I'm pretty sure Syracuse has a wrestling team but this University store has no such equipment I'm sorry but that's not much of a university store to me"
"The shop was closed without knowing. Instead of posting open-close, let alone approach the door to let me know when the doors open, they said from afar, “we are not open” (obviously since the glass doors were locked). I asked what time they open, the two ladies simply acted as if I wasn’t there and turned their back to me. After several attempts they finally answered from afar “11”. Once the doors opened, they were asked why they couldn’t let me know when they opened at first instead of ignoring the customer that is pointing to their wrist (the obvious question). They immediately became defensive and attempted to make it seem as if the customer, that doesn’t shop at the mall often, was in the wrong for not knowing when the store opens. Then state that the customer was being rude to them for asking simple questions that clearly offended them with no intention of doing so. Then claim that they told the customer when the doors open though one lady looked at the customer without expression while the other lady had her back to the customer both of which stood behind the register throughout the initial encounter (the register sits 20-30ft from the entrance to give more of a clear picture). All of which is a clear indicator that they knew they were in the wrong. There was hope that they could keep the interaction civil but then the customer ended up leaving the the store without making a purchase due to being upset with how they handled the situation. All of this could have been avoided had they acknowledged that not everyone is aware of the store hours and approach the doors to let the customer know when the doors open."
"They have everything you can imagine, but the two women working the day I was there were very unfriendly. There were no other customers in the store. I live out of town but shop there every time I am home. I am always polite to people working in stores and restaurants, it costs nothing to be inviting and welcoming."
"The staff at the store was very helpful. My daughter received a gift a few months back and brought it back home when she came to visit for Christmas because it didn't really fit right. With no receipt and such a long time having passed I didn't think we would be able to do anything. What a surprise when they told me no receipt was no issue, that the tag was enough and since they still had the item in stock we were able to get another size. Made it easier than any other store I have ever done a return at!"
"I truly wish I could rate my experience as a zero. I had purchased a glass for a loved one for Christmas, however the Syracuse “S” design began to peel off. I grabbed the receipt and the glass and headed to the store. I found a cheaper glass that I wanted to exchange for. Unfortunately the cashier (who also claimed to be the manager) said I could not exchange the glass because the store did not sell that specific one. I told the man that simply is not possible, as I bought the glass from this store a week ago. The cashier looked up the item on my receipt in his system and told me that it was showing up as a coffee mug and not a pint glass. I explained that the glass must have been mislabeled as I had purchased it from this store. Despite trying to exchange the deficient glass for a CHEAPER glass (about 50% cheaper) the cashier simply kept repeating, “there’s nothing I can do for you.” Despite following all of the rules (keeping the receipt and returning as prompt as possible) this manager could NOT help me in fixing this problem that THEIR store is responsible for. I promise I will never return to this sports store. Would NOT recommend, take your business elsewhere!"
