Reviews of PBS Facility Services
"Worst company I worked for in my life and this was my second job, left Starbucks to work there full time just to barely get hours. Then when you don’t pick up shifts they give to you, they then don’t give you any shifts unless you do the ones no one else wanna do. They also lie about the pay as well, leading on say it’s 19.87 an hour but once you see your paystubs it’s always a different pay depending on the building. I put in my two weeks as of Thursday June 8th and they didn’t even let me finish working my two weeks as well by finding me coverage I never asked for, and till this day I’m still waiting for them to pay me out my vacation pay since I worked for them for a whole year but don’t wanna be answering my calls or emails especially h.r., I also forgot to add they make you stay past your shift if your relief doesn’t show up for their shift."
"Do not work here if you have bills to pay or family that depend on you. This company only cares about the staff inside the main building. To PBS, the porters and concierge can be replaced easily. I have seen a ton of people come and go within a matter of 10 months. Learn Spanish because they will happily hire people who only speak Spanish. I have seen good workers get treated unfair. Don't get injured on the job either because PBS about that either. Good luck working for a full year. They will "move" you to another building and have you out of work for a month. Good luck contacting Luis in HR, he is always conveniently in a meeting. I started working here Jan 2023 and missed work for two whole months out of the year. PBS doesn't care if you have rent or children to take care of. You will think you're fired and then they will tell you oh, we are just looking for a new site to place you in. I was removed from my site without explanation a week before Thanksgiving so, I guess my Christmas bonus was being out of work all of December. I was sent to a construction site in October and the WHOLE CLEANING STAFF DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. Wasn't allowed to use to bathroom. They wanted me to use the port-a-pottys that has urine all over the seats and floor. When I expressed this to my manager, she told me I was allowed to use the bathroom because I wasn't a construction worker. So make sure PBS sends you to a location where u feel welcomed. This company opened my eyes to the future of New York and it shows that they cater to immigrants."
"The really deserve no stars DO NOT APPLY I have worked at this company for 6 months and was recently given the run around after trying to find out why I was removed from a building. I am an employee with over 5 years experience in the industry in front desk for residential and commercial building and have exceptional customer service with 9 years experience. I have also done security for 6 years . The job is full of incompetent emotional management including Luis the head of Hr and I guess acting supervisor according to Megan the hr lady and Henry deffwallen the sad new supervisor who in my experience shouldn’t even have a job . I could go into the long story about how I was removed from my site in which I have never been written up, never called out never had a complaint spoken to me or never have even got in trouble here but 1 day I had traveled my normal hour and 1/2 to work to find someone else there at my schedule time but no one had told me . When I got there and spoke to Henry who i never met but was the new supervisor for my building on 540 Fulton , the 4th one may I add ,he told me HR was supposed to reach out to me and hung up so the next day when I contacted HR (Luis Rodriquez) they told me it was Henry’s job to tell me but Henry said it was Hr’s , no one was taking accountability while I was out of work , luis finally tells me that the building did not want me there after already giving me the run around .He said that due to me not having a strong enough understanding of the job and me not paying attention to my surrounding I was no longer needed. Seeing as I was the only one in that building to actually care I asked for an investigation to be done and Luis said if one needed to be done the building would have done it , he also stated he came in and seen me sitting at the desk which is not my job , like any normal person I was confused because everyone sits at the desk and the building manager for the building did not like us in the package room ,I explained this to him and asked where I was supposed to be during my shift and he couldn’t give me an answer .I told him if he just asked tenants of the building they’d explain I did work and that this was a intact a personal vendetta , he told me the tenants didn’t matter that’s we were there for the building , that’s confused me because I never heard a company say that and if that was the case why was the previous girl in my building removed?(because the building and the staff are sexist and racist). After the run around for over a week , getting blocked by management , being put on hold for over an hour then being sent straight to voicemail I finally got ahold of the female hr lady (Megan) and asked for ceo information or someone higher up ,both her and luis told me that I couldn’t receive that information I had to request it and when I said I am requesting it they told me I couldn’t as it was after 5 when I had been on hold since 330. I was denied this in writing as well because it was after 5. The last conversation I had with Luis he told me that in normal cases when someone was removed from a building at management request they were fired but he didn’t feel that was the case with me and they would find me a building ASAP ,That was 3 1/2 weeks ago.All in all if you are a hard worker and experienced don’t work here , they start you at 16$ and the money you make training you don’t get for 3 months and after you train it can take weeks to finally get a building or a spot to work at and it’s biweekly pay .54 noll and 123 melrose are there main training building and Henry is the supervisor there so good look ,they are always full so there is never a full time spot . This company is just full of unqualified supervisors and workers who don’t care about you or the tenants . I hope that Eugene and Joel can get Luis Henry and Megan under control , put them in emotion management classes and regular management classes , teach them how to be bosses and not whatever they are .I l have receipts for everything and will continue to post this if they delete it ."
"PBS I used to work for them my experience was poor.remind you I been working as a maintenance worker 18 years know how to use most cleaning equipment. They let me go because I wasn't up to there level, the funny thing about all this is that I always was on time never miss a day at work help my team slipping and using a buffing machine. Just because one person don't like you they will let a good worker go and tell you your work is not good enough. To me PBS is a company with favor they don't care about there workers, very bad company...."
"If you're starting out on the security field then go for it. If you're experienced and have a great resume, RUN ! Go for another company. They will mislead you and start you off very low. I have 10 years experience on the field and they refused to work and negotiate with me. This company seem to have alot of termination and Quitters. Which goes to tell you sometime is wrong behind the scenes at pbs. I regret waste time and gas. And I'm sure they not gonna pay me the 3 days I've trained."
