"Halfway decent apartment, kind of over priced in my opinion. Must be noted they don’t allow dogs, even if you have an ESA! This is extremely discriminatory and against housing law. Even though they don’t allow your fury family member, they do have HUNDREDS of geese that poop everywhere and are more of a nuisance than a behaved dog could be. Management will put on a happy face to get you in the door but they are rude. My advice would be to consider another complex. This place never felt like home."
"I have not lived here- but here was my experience, just as a towns person. My family is good friends with a tenant here and we thought we'd drop by for a surprise visit. We had our 8 mo. old German shepherd puppy with us- this is an important detail. We just got out of our car, our dog 100% obedient and silent, we started walking for maybe 2 minutes when we were "pulled over" by a man, in an unmarked car, that told us Hollandale does not allow dogs anywhere on property. (Maybe elsewhere on the property there are signs designating this, but not certainly from where we were parked.) This man did not identify himself until I asked him "are you part of security here??" To which he advised he was part of the maintenance and grounds team. He advised that not only are dogs NOT allowed here, but even while inside our car, our dog was not permitted on grounds. Honestly that felt strange, but as I assumed, 'hey, private property, you can make your own designations...???' Not wanting to cause any further problems, my family and I got back into our car to leave, but certainly not before someone else thought it was necessary to roll down their window while driving by and letting us know we were not welcome there/we were breaking the rules. As visitors, I've never felt so unwelcomed simply by just existing/walking somewhere. The overall feeling I got was that we were somehow less than and not welcomed at all. Dog owners be damned at Hollandale."
"I lived there more than a year. The apartment was comfortable and the building was safe and secure. The management (thank you, Linda!) is very helpful and kind. I also had great neighbors. I really had a very good experience. I can't imagine a better place to rent an apartment."
"To rephrase my original review: I am not and have not rented from Hollandale Apartments. I have a close friend who has rented from them. Hollandale claims to be a “neighborhood watch” area. I, myself, others and my friend have all been around the area with our own children. My friend had a scary experience in which she had felt her and her child were in potential danger when she was on the property and had made a public post about the situation. Hollandale became aware of this post and immediately wanted it taken off of social media. They instantly jumped to the conclusion that my friend was slandering the apartment complex rather than just looking out for the community. Instead of reaching out and asking if they were okay or if they could do anything to make them feel more comfortable on the property, they decided to not renew her lease even though they have 1.) paid rent on time and every month 2.) have not once complained about any of the issues they’ve had in the apartment and 3.) have been very good residents and taken care of the apartment they are renting. They let her know that yes, the reason they will not be renewing her lease is because of that social media post. Why would they not want to keep their property safe? Why would they not want figure out what was going on before something DID happen? Now, they have replied to my original review and claiming that social media is false in all of its entirety and my comments on this are essentially worthless just because I have not lived there. As a mother, I would not and will never rent or lease from Hollandale Apartments because of this incident. So - in total, if you are a mother, father, grandparent, what have you, please think twice before making a decision to rent from this complex. It may be pretty with the trees but the management is horrible, aggressive and inaccurate in all totality. They will deny everything (act friendly until you sign the paper) and then you have your own personal experience and you will be shown how they truly act."
"I’ve stayed in these apartments with family and have seen how they are first-hand. The apartments are very clean, good views, and are well equipped inside. But… Beauty does not outshine the property management. Other reviews are here telling you what has gone wrong and are being flat out told “No, that’s wrong.” You’re supposed to give residents a better experience rather than tell them they’re lying because your denial speaks louder than you think.. especially when there’s proof people possess. Referring to Paige Myers’ review on 02/03/2023, you have a community watch. She felt unsafe and warned the COMMUNITY as a crime could’ve been committed, but I guess we took that as a knife into the back from a tenant rather than a concern. Keep your community and tenants safe before worrying about your name please. Keep in mind no one is slandering or making defamatory reviews as these are strictly based on the experience we’ve had with the complex, or what has happened on the property. You’re going to get bad reviews if your property isn’t safe to those who come on it… renting or not. If guests to people living there felt unsafe, imagine how your tenants feel."
