"As a former customer (2 years) let me tell you what to expect if you decide to have your taxes done with DB&B/John Calogero: ~ Filing an extension on tax day and not having your return(s) completed until August (1st year) or September (2nd year). ~ Being ignored - phone calls/emails to check on status will not be answered for weeks on end or until you contact a higher up. ~ Quarterly or filing payments will be determined with a "just in case" mentality meaning you'll likely overpay for no good reason. You shouldn't be paying thousands of dollars in April, only to receive a refund in that same amount once the IRS processes your return in October. ~ Paying much MORE than you should for preparation/filing services - they are more expensive than other places. $4,200 for a semi-complicated personal return and a simple trust return is ABSURD!!! ~ Despite the fact that they dropped the ball completely, I was not given an apology by John or the higher up I contacted to report my concerns. I was actually given a bunch of excuses and invalidated as impatient. See my full review (with specifics) on YELP. I'm with a new CPA firm and my new Accountant is wonderful! I guess I'm not the only one - I found out that several DB&B customers have switched to them for the same reasons!!!"
