"We like the location and space, but the management is incredibly unresponsive and unhelpful. We've had an issue with cigarette smoke wafting into our apartment through the pipes since May and have yet to have ANY help in solving the problem - and in the midst of this, our rent went up 20% as did the rest of our floor. Would NOT recommend."
"Don't do it. My issues are security, management, and noise. Noise - As others stated the construction on the building it extremely painful if home from 9 am to 5 pm. Pounding. However, the work is necessary. Security is a joke. They contract out this and the people have no idea who lives in the building and if you appear to NOT be sketchy or a delivery person they'll let you go through with no issue. I've had soooo many visitors just walk right in. I've told management and they gaslight me with there responses. One time security was asleep when i took my dog out at 3 am and i couldn't get back in! I had to walk outside and go to another building to notify them. Management. They don't care once you've signed a lease. I wrote many emails and made many phone calls regarding dog attacks. They don't care! A dog in my building attacked a human and caused a ton of blood loss and we told security and called mgmt. They essentially said it's a police issue. We just wanted the dog out of the building or wearing a muzzle. The dog attacked ANOTHER dog and this time I called mgmt and they said they'd make the dog wear a muzzle after watching security footage from elevator. Lasted one week - then saw the dog without a muzzle. I reported to mgmt my dog was attacked by a Pit Bull ( which per the lease we can't have ) and mgmt said tough luck as the owner stated service dog. The dog wasn't a service dog - but if you do have a pit note they allow you to live here with no issues. Side notes. Washing machines always broken. Package room is a 10/10 - best staff. Received security deposit back."
"I'll start off with things I feel can be improved upon and end on a positive note here. Local Law 11 (facade work) is a pain, it's loud and OgdenCAP has chosen FLAG who is not a great contractor (in fact on my line they finished the work, then had to go back and do it again because it was wrong). That's not NC's fault, but it's an annoyance. The wear and tear of the building is noticeable particularly in many hallways where the wallpaper has seen better days, the laundry room leaks from the ceilings by the big dryers, elevators are frequently out and tile on the plaza level has absolutely seen better days. My biggest annoyance is the windows here. 1) they don't have screens so we can't open the windows and trust our animals won't end up on the sidewalk. 2) they're poorly insulated so in the winter your apartment will get colder and in the summer you'll spend a small fortune on AC. 3) the paper shades they provide hardly provide shade and might more economically if they put a reflective film on it (Amazon also sells this for like $50, worth the money). Enough whining, I've lived here for 3 years and I've enjoyed it. The gym and pool are great (you do have to pay) but it's massively convenient for a pre/post-work workout. They're very accommodating to animals and our dogs have made some best friends here. The views are incredible (one posted at night and sunset), featuring a sliver of the Jackie O Reservoir. The staff is largely friendly. Sometimes I wish they were more Heather Valentin is awesome and gets back to you fairly quickly (give it 1 business day on average). The location is amazing being a quick walk to Central Park, sandwiched by bike lanes on 2nd and 3rd ave and a short walk to the 6 and Q. For the price they're asking for, you likely won't find better in Manhattan especially when you consider the massive amount of closet space offered. If you can afford a 6k apt obviously do that, but for most of us who can afford 3-4k, I honestly don't think you'll do better than Normandie."
"I wish I could add the video so you could hear the drilling that has been going on for 3 years. Yes. 3. They will tell you it’s over or give you false info every week. Our walls are cracked, our air conditioner is broken and leaked all over our floors causing water damage. Our windows haven’t been cleaned once in 3 years. The laundry room has a leak in the ceiling and always has broken machines. Management is rude and careless so is maintenance. If you work from home, you will not be able to work. Period. End of sentence. Elevators break down every single week. The only bright side? You have a dishwasher and the package room is nice. We only resigned because we knew we were leaving NYC at the end of our second lease and STUPIDLY believed management for the second time that construction was almost done. Even if you are reading this after construction is done - AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS."
"Literally the best building in the upper east side! Their amenities package is unmatched. The building has two floors of amenities that include two rooftops, a swimming pool, multiple gym rooms and tons of common area and work space. Very well maintained building all around. Doormen and concierge are extremely friendly and are always welcoming. I've recently had the pleasure of working with Karina and Dana along with Farhea of the leasing office. Their dedication and knowledge made the rental process a delight."
