Reviews of Parkhill City Phase I
"The owners of the building care about nothing but themselves. Do NOT live here. It takes months for a simple work order to get completed."
"Do Not Rent here they are money hungry and only worried about their money , I'm in the beginning process of leasing in and already I'm telling them I want my money back and they can keep their apartment I don't want it too much too deal with, and if you read your lease careful you will see the scheme, I want out!"
"My fiance and I moved into Parkhill City Phase 2 in early August - the touring, lease signing and move in process were generally very smooth. Yotam and Claire were very responsive to emails and texts and provide us all the info we needed on the apartment, facilities, and lease process. The difference between net rent and gross rent is extremely common in luxury apartments that are leasing up, so don't let the bad reviews about this affect your decision - by the end of your lease, you will have paid the advertised rent price (the lower amount), regardless of what the lease actually says, and Yotam and other leasing agents are able to explain it in detail. Some of the amenities cost money to rent, but that is very typical of luxury apartment buildings. The gym and rooftop, mailroom, lounges, etc are all included in rent (the only things you have to pay for are parking, party room, and movie theater) and we aren't charged extra amenity fees. The move in process was very easy, facilitated by Victor at the security desk. He was extremely welcoming and gave us advice on where to park and made the entire thing very smooth. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the supers and security staff since we moved in 3 weeks ago. The apartments themselves have tons of space, washer/dryer, dishwashers, and are brand new. The ceilings (and doors) are extremely high, which can be both good and bad depending on how tall you are, so just be sure to bring a stepstool or 2 if you like to hang things off the top of your doors. Our issues have been mainly with overall management- we were misled by Tara (the building manager) about the availability of parking in the onsite garage. In mid-July she said parking would be available, but then wouldn't follow up with us about it until a week before we moved in when she said there was no more parking, and we never received confirmation if we were put on the waitlist. Luckily we were able to find parking at the GGMC garage down the street, but it was a frustrating process dealing with Plaza Management. Additionally, you have to mail in checks for your first month's rent and security deposit which really shouldn't be required in this day and age with online portals available, where you can go to pay your rent the rest of the time.... We also had an issue with getting utilities in our name since the address of electric service is different than your street address... so just be warned that these initial issues are there, but once you get passed the lease signing process, you'll be done. Two of the 4 main elevators have been out of service since we moved in, but construction is ramping back up again and they should be back online soon. The super told me it should just be another week or two (as of mid-Aug 2020), but I haven't had too many issues waiting. I'm on the 5th floor so it's also not awful to need to take the stairs if I'm in a rush. Overall, we are very pleased with the building, the day to day security staff, the neighborhood (lots of commercial areas nearby, a park across the street) and the rooftop is beautiful. Main issues have been with management. However, for the amount you are paying, this is a very nice building with easy access to LIRR and the subway, as well as numerous bus lines and commercial corridors."
"I frequent the building often as my girlfriend lives here. We were both mugged outside the building and had there had been a door man we would have likely been safer. Not a safe area. We are promptly moving out."
"Realtor is a scam. I looked via Craiglist ad was $1800/month for 2 Bedroom and then they are saying 3600/month. Suggestions: dont go with them, find someone else who are realiable."
