Reviews of Enclave at the Cathedral
"You know why I give a 1-star review? Go through very negative reviews about move-outs, they are true. I have been living with enclave for two years and I am satisfied with pretty much everything else, but they want you to obey ridiculous rules that you have never heard of. I wish I had chosen somewhere else to live and, if you insist on living here, plan wayyyyyy ahead before you move out."
"This is the worst apartment I have ever lived and I would strongly suggest that anyone who wants to live here choose somewhere else. 1. The rent is unreasonably high. Before we moved out, we were paying over $6K a month for a 2b/1b apartment. Even though we were paying such ridiculous high rent, WE WERE NOT TREATED WITH RESPECT. Staffs here talk to you in the rudest way you could ever imagine and they respond emails very slowly, if not completely ignore them. 2. The move-out was a nightmare. You were not allowed to move any big furniture through the front door by your own. Why? Because they want you to leave all your furniture in your apartment so that they could either TAKE YOUR THINGS or CHARGE YOU a ridiculous high penalty. At the move-out day, one of the staffs is literally trying to take my roommate's bike in front of us even though we had emphasized several times that we still want that bike. NOT SO FAST YOU GREEDY BAST*RDS! 3. The management team is unprofessional and doesn't show a slight respect to their tenants especially after your moving-out. Two days after the move-out, we received an email asking for payment for the damages we have done. When we asked them for a detailed breakdown of the payment, they simply didn't answer our questions and criticize us in the most condescending tone that I have ever seen in my life. They even threaten us for filing a claim with the Guarantors like we didn't have the money to pay them. This shows nothing but IGNORANCE, ARROGANCE, and GREEDY nature of the management team."
"I lived here for two years and moved out recently. The move-out has been one of the most stressful experiences I’ve ever had. My moving company was late due to the traffic and the front desk staffs refused to let me use the elevator. The staff let the moving company waited outside for about half an hour before I sent them away. Having to reschedule another moving company to come in the following day and had no place to stay during my actual move-out day. When I inform the front desk staff to push back my elevator reservation, all responses I got from him were rude complains on I should have moved out couple days earlier. I believe that I have my right to pick my own move-out date, and this conversation is not necessary and extremely problematic. Moved in and out from several buildings now and I’ve never encounter any situations when a resident is refused to move out and have to beg the staff to move out. During my first year here the construction noise is unbearable giving the fact that lots of things happens on zoom and I had to spend most of times at home. I wouldn’t recommend this building at all, the rent you pay deserve a more respectful/responsive management team."
"Recently moved out, some of the staffs are rude and condescending but there have been also a lot of friendly faces. The living experience was fine but the moving out process was not as good as I expected. They don’t allow moving your furnitures yourself in or out from the front door, which doesn’t happen in my new apartment in Queens, so be prepared for being charged for buying insurance for moving your furnitures or receiving eye rollings from the staffs and front desk. The front door guy bluntly said no when I asked if I can get my mails in the mailbox in case they arrive late. I did the change of address usps but that’s not a guarantee of getting my important mails. They “assured” me that they won’t help their past tenants in anyway or do any more courtesy (or supposedly their jobs) when the tenants stop paying them. Previously I moved out from my apartment in another city, they mailed me my letters to my new address upon notice. Price is okay, ie cheaper compared to 30 Morningside across street but still is a price for luxury apartment. Luckily, a lot of staffs we heard who are rude and racist were cleaned out before we came. Overall a not bad experience, but the move-out process was frustrating. Don’t only think about how you are treated when you just start living there but think about how you will be treated when you are about to leave. Find a better place if possible, if not, Enclave is not that bad."
"We resided in the Enclave for 3 years and enjoyed our tenancy. We are surprised to see many negative reviews. The apartments are new with a lot of natural light, new kitchen appliances and washer / dryer (they are small but they work), the wood flooring is high quality, and the bathrooms are small but with nice fixtures. The gym, rooftop and outdoor patio space are nice amenities and the building is well maintained. We found the staff to be friendly with very quick attention to maintenance issues. The property manager, Oksana, was helpful and provided us a prompt full return of our security deposit on move out. It was a great place to live in with a few negatives (occasional noise from neighbors, high prices, and strict rules on guests) but overall I’d highly recommend this building! NOTE: during our tenancy, this was prior to the construction noted in many of the reviews so this may have impacted our review"
