Reviews of Cedar Hill
"I've rented here for seven years and been just about perfectly content -quality appliances, storage space in basement, a price you can afford. Maintenance and office staff very responsive and super nice. Siding updates have given the place a classy look. Cons - Only one plug in bathroom lighting, living room and 3rd bedroom small."
"Never had a problem that wasn't fixed immediately, great lawn maintenence, nice neighbors, haven't had a problem in 4 years also never seen a mouse in my place."
"This is hands-down the best rental we had in Monroe County for the entirety of us living in New York... which we had numerous different leases from management companies and private owners that were all awful. As long as you are a responsible renter, you will have absolutely no issues here. Upon move-in we had minor maintenance needs, and they were resolved within 24 hours. Anytime we had issues, Jennifer in the office never failed to be of great assistance and get Walt or Todd out in a timely manner. Jennifer was super helpful on move out, and honestly we wish we didn’t have to go. These units are very spacious and comfortable, and you never have to worry about things that might be needed. I would highly recommend Cedar Hill as your next home, and if we ever come back to New York, we’ll call Jennifer first thing! Thanks again Jennifer, Walt, and Landsman for a great living experience. -Athena & Matt"
"LOVE these townhouses. Lived here when I was in high school and college, then my boyfriend and I moved here after college and have been here for two years. Jen in the office is awesome, maintanence is always fast. Townhomes are clean and spacious. Best price around. Would recommend Cedar Hill to anyone in the area looking for good quality living for a great price. We just bought our first house but I'm gunna miss Cedar Terrace!"
"Where do I start it wasn't the worst place in the world I surely have lived in worse. The rent is fairly cheap. But there are some things that were very nasty; unnecessary if they'd just cared at all. Was told before leasing that we would be getting all new kitchen, bathrooms & carpet. Kitchen cabinets, flooring and countertops were new and were actually very nice! But we got a dirty old fridge that I had to scrub down really well before putting anything in it. Got a dirty but fairly recent range though. In the bathrooms they had put new flooring down (linoleum) and the sink pedestal in the downstairs half bath was new. That cabinet the sink was on was not new but wasn't horribly old either. The vanity and sink in the upstairs main bath were very old and dirty as was the medicine cabinet. Oh, another thing was when we looked in the medicine cabinets upon moving in, there was someone's old disgusting pimple popping needle stuck in these little sponge things that were attached to the inside of the cabinets. This was in both the upstairs and the downstairs one. Gross! The medicine cabinets were super old, the metal kind and was super dirty, so bad even after cleaning it the best I could, I wouldn't put anything in it. The toilets were super old at least from the 70's but looked like they came from some old run down institution building or horror movie. The inside of them all around the inside ring was black/eroded and it came down from the ring to about 1/3 the way down the bowl, all the way around! And the same black erosion was in the part where it flushes down. No matter how hard you scrubbed, or what cleaning products you used, it never helped. It was embarrassing, I always hoped anyone visiting wouldn't need to use the bathroom. Shower/tub super old & grungy with mold all along the top walls. Carpets, you could tell that they just had the maintenance guys install carpet they obviously have on hand. It's just really cheap carpet that sheds carpet fibers all over the place/on you. Never secured properly along the edges or where they were cut to fit odd places just left alone to fray. We know the carpets do not cost them hardly anything yet they will make you pay $1000 if there is even one little spot on any part in any room, they claim they do a total carpet replacement lmao. Well I'm sure they replace the carpets after every tenant with the same cheap carpeting & they'll find a way to charge the tenant the whole lot. I'd love to see other past tenants they've done the same way comment on this. There was black mold growing in the corners of the bedrooms. The walls must be leaking in water from the outer cinder block wall. There were these cinder block fire walls that's in between every couple of townhomes. Well it was on that side where that wall is that the bedrooms had the mold. When I looked at the wall outside, at the bottom it was very damaged/broken. Maybe the whole wall shifted? When you touched the bedroom walls in the corner areas or anywhere around the windows, it felt cold and damp. The basement also leaked water when it rained heavy about 1/3 of the carpet from one corner (yep from the side where that fire wall is) on into the room a bit would be soaking wet. Also there were mice there. We took care of them though. Office would leave notes on our door to pick up our trash left outside when we didn't have any and they'd leave notes that our cat cannot be outside and we never had a cat. Unfortunately, our unit had the water meter inside, so they always wanted to come in every month and read the meter and of course if anyone had an issue with their plumbing, they always had to come to our place to shut the water off, etc. Not to mention we had to hear everyone's water go down the pipes through our walls...so that was constant. Front doorknob didn't work right it'd take 10 min. to get it to unlock. Mostly we'd give up and walk around the whole building to get to the back door. Now let me leave with what I liked. I liked the location! The community and neighborhood was great!"
