"The city has predicted a snow storm for days now and not once has a plow been at the complex. I couldn’t enter the complex and called the emergency number 2 hours and 6 phone calls later and still no call back. Why do we pay rent when services we should receive aren’t given. This isn’t the first time this has happened but today is the worst of them. Their excuse was a driving ban but plows aren’t a part of that driving ban!"

"Update: Young Development is now allowing their maintenance crews to bulldoze excess snow into those parking spots that are reserved for loading and unloading from handicapped vehicles. We've also had absolutely zero sidewalk maintenance and everything is covered in black ice. They left us a single dollar store shovel which is literally broken, and the salt bucket has no handle and weighs over 20lbs. Ever since they started building their two new massive complexes, they've taken all resources away from their existing properties. They couldn't care less about properties that already have tenants. They only care about building new ones, filling those up, and then moving on to the next one. Nothing but icy sidewalks and roads in the winter. Don't expect energy efficient windows either - no matter the season. Dog park fence is a mess but we're told "it's the dogs" despite them literally dumping hundreds of pounds of snow and ice PUSHING ON THE FENCE all winter. Even beside that glaring point, it's a dog park. Maintain it. Saying "we're not maintaining the dog park because dogs are being dogs in the dog park" is just as stupid as saying "I'm not changing the balding tires of my car because I've been driving on them and that shouldn't be my problem". Don't get me started on my neighbors who got SIGNED-OFF exit inspection, received a check for their returned security deposit, and then young issued a STOP on the check, causing them to pay a bounce fee and then deal with extra nonsense they "changed their mind" on."

"My mother lived at Sylvia's Place for almost 11 years. She passed away in Feb. 2023. We turned over the apartment at the end of March. What would you have expected the carpet to look like after 11 years? Would you not expect to have to clean it? Well apparently, these folks don't. They included a 25% hit to the security deposit. Further, they were supposed to call me to discuss. Well, they couldn't be bothered. Not a very good way to do business. On a positive note, my mother enjoyed her time there and made many friends."

"If I could leave 0 stars I would: they are sooooo money hungry. They will change your lease without you knowing. I will be on all social platforms with my review. Also reporting them to the BBB. Do not rent from them. & they’re racists.& Don’t trust them in your apartment!"

"The woman Erica at the leasing office and the property manager Joe were both very unprofessional and rude to me. There are constantly charges & fees that they make people pay without notice. We’re in the middle of a worldwide pandemic where I am struggling to make ends meet and all they have to say is “oh well it’s in your lease” and giving me 24 hours to pay them “or else”. The washer and dryer in the basement haven’t worked since I’ve moved into this place 4 years ago. The hallways always smell like cigarettes & garbage. Unless it’s an emergency they take forever to come out & do poor quality repairs. The power has gone out more times than I can count. They get grass all over my car when they mow the lawn. They enter your apartment when you’re not home with no notice at all. My packages have been stolen on numerous occasions. Living here has been a complete nightmare I would not recommend anyone to lease with Young Development!!!!!!!"
