Reviews
"Roach infested, packages easily get stolen, thin walls, smelly, had no hot water for a month and wasn’t reimbursed, took my belongings out of my apt while in the process of moving when I hadn’t handed in my keys yet. Overall unreliable and way overpriced for the dark dank hole I lived in."
"I was helping was my 21 year old daughter navigate getting her first apartment in NYC. From the time she applied, to the time she moved out - the leasing dept, property management, accounting dept, and everyone I spoke to, was extremely helpful! Renting in NYC is very different from where we live and I got an enormous amount of assistance from Emily Sprague, in leasing. After my daughter moved in, she handled everything on her own, but got a lot of help from the people working in the building, when she needed it. The front doorman, the maintenance people and everyone else she ever needed help from, were truly accommodating, professional and very nice (and my daughter doesn't give compliments easily!) If she ever decides to move back to NYC, I know she would go to MetroNest for another apartment."
"We toured multiple apartments listed by Metronest and immediately applied for one that we loved. After three drawn out weeks of almost no communication from Metronest, we were told that not only would each tenant be required to have a guarantor (regardless of salary), but EACH of the 4 guarantors would have to make 60x the entire apartment rent (about $300,000 per person). The average salary in NYC is nowhere near this - who are they expecting to rent these apartments to? We asked if we could apply with two guarantors that met/exceeded the requirements and have them cover the entire apartment, but again we were told that it had to be each individual person with a guarantor who each made $300,000+. These are not luxury buildings in any sense. The apartment we originally applied for, as well as several others we looked at, keep getting re-posted on their site after a couple of days, and we can only assume that it’s because of people having to pull their applications due to the ridiculous guarantor policy. If a person makes 40x the rent, they shouldn’t need a guarantor anyway. It has been a frustrating process with MetroNest, especially when I know that we could have signed a lease with them and paid a month ago if they had any sense. Unless you each have a guarantor and ones with full pockets too, you and your roommates should stay clear of Metronest."
"I genuinely wish I could leave zero stars, or maybe a half star for the rent deal we got on our last 3 months. But even $0 is too much to pay for any lease with Metronest. Their management is one of the most incompetent I’ve seen in my entire life, and only one person was somewhat responsive when they weren’t late. Getting maintenance to come should be an Olympic sport. Not only were there mice and insects but the building is quite literally falling apart. Part of our wall decayed into nothing and it still took them about a week to poorly fix it. The boiler broke at least 4 times in the dead of winter and only one radiator worked and they never fixed our other one. We moved out a month and a half early just to get out of this purgatory. We moved 100 blocks north from our jobs just to get a decent apartment. Thanks for absolutely nothing. This company is a fraud and should be avoided at all costs. Please value yourselves and go somewhere else for the love of god. Regards, your previous tenants."
"Shout out to all the doormans at the 11 Waverly Pl! They have been very helpful and nice the whole time, especially Kevin! Moving was smooth. I have spent the last 6 months happily living here and enjoyed the nice neighborhood. Given this is an old building, you need to be aware of some problems coming with it. For example, pipes - my toilet got stuck once and the building once told us to not flush anything in the kitchen for a day due to pipe fixing. The good thing is that maintenance tickets are responded usually within a day. The building was still in the process of exterior maintenance before I move out. You might experience some inconvenience due to that, hope the building can finish it soon."
