Reviews of Kim's Nail & Spa NY Inc
"I've been to Kim's more than once and they have now become my regular nail salon. I tried other places in the area but after waiting almost an hour, I drove over to Kim's, was immediately seated for a pedicure and Cindy did an amazing job on my SNS with tips. I was so impressed that they had the time and all the girls are so sweet and accommodating! I don't plan on going anywhere else!"
"This place was so disappointing. I needed a quick spot to get my nails done for an impromptu trip. I asked for power set and when Cindy the nail technician started to do my nails as I was in the massage chair getting a pedicure it was very weird because she couldn’t sit still, she was up and down and very easily distracted. When the pedicure was done we moved to the nail chair and she was still very anxious moving around frequently. I asked her to file my nails more smoothly because I could see the visible lumps in the polish . She continued and said she wasn’t done . When she was done I couldn’t believe she really asked to take a pic because they looked so unprofessional. I paid and left because I had to get ready for a flight . For the price I was disgusted , I would not recommend this place to anyone."
"I should have known better when I asked her about eye lash extensions, that she doesn’t know her job well. First of all she took 2 hours to get lashes done, and after that it was not even. Then I got a stye which still hasn’t healed. I am very disappointed. I will never go there. Sorry"
"I had high hopes for this place because it's in my neighborhood and would be a good backup to my regular nail salon; however, after my experience and the sub-par job that was done, I will never visit this nail salon again. I arrived at this nail salon about 5:15pm. I inquired about price before sitting to get my nails done. The lady told me it would be $60 to get the UV gel done - which was a filling (not a new set) and to replace 2 broken nails. This price is actually higher than my regular nail salon (that charges $60 for a new set) but I went along with it because I was pressed for time. Issue #1. As the lady started doing my nails at about 5:20pm, I could tell she didn't have much experience. First, she barely filed my nails. I told her I had a lot of growth so she needed to cut them a bit and file and shape them. She attempted to do this but was unsuccessful: she changed the shape of my nails that I walked in with that I wanted to maintain. As a result, I had to take matters in my own hands and ask her for the file and started to file and shape them myself. Issue #2. At this point its now 6:05pm and she's still in the beginning stages of prepping my nails to put the UV gel on. As she's putting the UV gel on I noticed she's using an oddly minimal amount - not enough to cover my nails. In addition, she was not applying it correctly that would result in a smooth consistency over my nails. In short, it was being done sloppily. Issue #3. After the UV gel application it's now 6:30pm. She proceeds to file and smooth down my nails which was again a fail. I had to explain to her again that she needs to maintain the shape I came in the store with and smooth down my nails properly. Issue #4. She gets ready to paint my nails without saying to me to wash my hands of all the dust that accumulated from smoothing and filing my nails. So I say to her I have to wash my hands (which is a typical step in getting your nails done at any salon). I found this odd that she didn't seem to know this. Issue #5. As she's painting my nails, the polish looks sloppy and clunky on my nails. I was very disappointed with the application. I think this happened because she did not smooth my nails properly. Also, in the painting process due to the limited amount of UV gel she put on my right thumb nail - it started to break off as I;m sitting there...ridiculous! She had to then wipe off the nail color and applied more UV gel. I was so frustrated at this point because it's now approaching almost 90 mins being there. Issue #6 I had to change the nail color to see if wouldn't look clunky. That worked somewhat but I had to have her put 3 coats on. As shown in the pictures with my nails painted, my nails are still not smooth and you can see blotches of the UV gel underneath. This should never happen. Issue #7. After she finishes this horrible job at 7:10pm (which should only take 45 mins to 60 mins tops) she says it's$63 because I'm paying with my debit card. I explained to her she never told me that there was an up charge for paying with a card instead of cash. I found that to be very deceptive. And I told her I'm only pay $60 and that's it. Overall, the salon is nice and clean and not busy but I would never recommend this salon to anyone. It was a horrible nail job!"
"Stopped by Kim's today for a powder gel manicure and regular pedicure. There was minimal wait (although they were busy) and "Ada" immediately assisted me. She did an awesome job!!!! Ada was patient made sure to perfect every detail. I will be going back to see her in a few weeks!!! I would totally recommend this location and Ada!!! Thank you for making my day."
