Reviews of Gi Gi Nail Spa
"Helen is amazing! I’ve been going here for over 3 years now and she always does such a great job. She’s efficient, consistent, and so friendly! I’ve moved twice since I started coming here but I still choose to make my way over to come see her. She’s truly a gem. Highly recommend!"
"If i can give this place zero stars, I would! GIGI the owner is rude and disrespectful. I went there for a dip powder manicure. They had to soak my nails first to remove the old manicure dip manicure. They DID NOT follow the process to remove the powder properly. You are supposed to file or buff off the top layer then soak it in acetone. My top layer was not filed or buffed prior to soaking in acetone, and nail polish did not come off at all. Then GIGI attempted to use the machine to take the nail polish off instead of soaking it again. I asked her not to use the machine as it was damaging my nails and my nail was literally bending in half as she used the machine. She refused to listen and tried to charge me extra $17 extra to soak the nail polish off! I asked why I was being charged extra since it was their mistake that they did not soak my nails properly. She abruptly removed my hands from the acetone and took it to the back as I did not want to pay $17 to remove the dip powder. I refused to let her damage my nails any further and went to another salon. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this salon!"
"First and last time. Did a horrible job then got upset when I said to change it. Still have nail polish all over my fingers. Feet she didn’t even bother to clean under my nails. Waste of time and MONEY!!!"
"Prices are reasonable, I liked Sue, she’s efficient and thorough. $17 to remove dip powder from fingers and reshape / cut. $3 to remove reg polish from toes and no reshape / cut. $11 for a 10min chair massage. Charges $2 in credit card fee. Place seems clean, lots of reg nail polish Essie nude colors. Update Aug 2023: had May do a basic mani on me. This is your typical Ny salon, in a rush to get as many customers in/out. She was thorough but very quick working on my nails. She layered 4 coats of clear and colored polish on and then put me to sit with blue lights / fan. They charge $2 for credit card regardless of the amount of your service. I asked for the 10min massage and they said no since they’re busy. Personally I prefer getting my nails done in Florida or somewhere else that’s more focused / slow. But this is a good spot for those 15 min in / out manis."
"I’ve been to this place a couple times. Design wise they do a good job. This last time I went, I will never go back. Went to get a fill in. The owner Gigi did my nails. Asked her not to make them so thick as last time. They were very thick. She shaved them down they looked great but by time I went home they started to crack at the sides. Called her she said I could come in, when I got there she was not there. The other girls did not know how to do acrylic but really tried to help. Next day cracked again, this time more than one. Went back to her she says “oh we fixed it already for you” did not want to help me. Then she puts this powder on it to repair, left my nails rough and uneven. Told me multiple times my nails were too long so I needed to be careful. I’ve had nails much longer and I did nothing that was strenuous at all! Two nails broke completely that evening. I went back to get nails taken off completely. The other girls are so nice and helpful but the owner Gigi seems entitled. The whole time I’m there she’s sitting smirking. I paid almost $100 for my nails and couldn’t even enjoy them a week. Depends on what you’re going for and who is doing your nails"
