"The whole experience was awful! My technician was pulled away because her client arrived early. Weird. The new tech wasn’t as skilled clearly. Here are my toes less than 2 weeks later. $90 pedicure!! Note, I had to go back after 1 week to have them fix the polish on my big toe. It peeled clean off. While it was drying, the guy at the front kept eyeballing me and then asked if I needed anything else. I got the vibe that he wanted me out. Lastly, my nails were cut unevenly. So bad! Been going there for years, left them a 5 star review in the past, thought they knew me. Updating my review to 1 star and won’t be back!"
"I was in the neighborhood and decided to give this place a try. My fiance and I had pedicures (both good) and shoulder massages (both good, but heavily upsold to us). My manicure, however, was horrible. I got gels and had to ask the technician to fix them because every single nail was missing large chunks of polish. While she was incredibly kind and helped me with my issue, at the end of the day the manicure is still a mess. My cuticles were never touched and they look worse than when I entered the salon... And there are visible streaks in the polish and dried polish on by skin. Gels were $48 and they started chipping after 2 days! I ended up taking off the polish because it was so bad. I called the salon and they refused to help me. So while the actual salon experience was nice and the people are kind, I'd stay away from their manicures."
"Tried La Beaute because my normal place was closed and left with the worst dip powder manicure I have ever gotten, not to mention at the incredibly overpriced cost of $100. Don’t get me wrong, they were so nice there and the place was very well kept/clean, but their ability to do dip powder and their defensiveness about my dissatisfaction with them being because of the color I chose (a dark red) was very frustrating. I’ve been getting red dip powder manicures for four years now and have not once ever had a problem with manicurists making my nails look natural from drilling them down to reduce all bulkiness after applying the layers of powder. Even after asking my nail tech (who I think runs the place - Eugene) to use the drill to make my nails look less bulky at least three different times after his first pass at them, after which he felt satisfied with them each consecutive time and I still was not, it became clear that La Beaute simply is not well trained in dip powder. What was most frustrating despite their niceness was that at the price of $100 they merely didn’t seem to know what a good dip powder manicure was supposed to look like because even after staying an extra hour for them to keep trying to make me happier with them, I left with my nails still so bulky and not at all how I like them, yet my nail tech thinking they looked great and were exactly what I wanted. My nails look and feel like large globs of red shiny glue. Elevated completely off my nail beds to a very tacky degree. They’re also bumpy and not even consistently shaped as almond as I asked for. Other places in the city, even relatively expensive ones, charge at most $60 with nail extension tips for dip powder in my experience. Imagine hating your nails after spending a whopping $100. They didn’t even cut my cuticles..? Lol. Want my money back."
"I loved this salon the first couple times that I went, the staff really did great work and took care of my gel manicure. Unfortunately my experience ends there and I probably won't be coming back again after tonight. A technician named Agnes did my manicure tonight and I was really disappointed. She made me bleed 4x, filed down my nails into crooked mismatched shapes and left all of the edges jagged. I also don't think the gel was cured long enough. After I left my nails looked worse then when I came in and the jagged edges are snagging on my clothes. I am really sad to leave this review but I feel this needs to be a warning to other customers."
"Great experience and service for my first time visit here at La Beaute N & S. My esthetician, Gloria was sweet and professional. She took her time when doing my manicure. I felt luxurious. Going with the flow of the spa experience, I decided to get the 10 minute massage after my nails and it was great. Gloria definitely went a few minutes past 10 to make sure I was completely relaxed. I highly recommend spending the extra $17 for the added touch. The shop is clean, well lit and organized. It has a newer look and feel. I will return for more services. Also great that they provide a punch card to earn free services after so many visits."
