"Went there to pick up a router that was on sale. One week into a month long sale, they were already out of the sale brand routers but of course suggested a much more expensive alternative. Classic bait and switch."
"Staff are generally rude and not very helpful. The older guys tend to be rude and impatient, the younger guys tend to be pushy and snobby. A very elitist store where the staff will always claim to know better than you, even if carpentry is literally your trade. Plus they hover over you the whole time like they’re watching to see if you’re gonna steal something, and I don’t like being treated like a thief. If you are not buying the most expensive version of a given tool, they will tell you the one you’re looking at is junk and not to waste your money. If it’s junk, why are you selling it? Not to mention, I know what I’m buying - probably know more than the staff. They are not very knowledgeable but hey - if they were they would probably be at a workshop like myself, not selling tools in a retail space. Take the 50 minute drive to Rockler instead of shopping here if you want good customer service where you aren’t automatically treated like an “amateur” because you don’t work at the store."
"Very poor customer service. Went to purchase a CNC Router bit today and asked for a specific size. We were told the size is not made, when we purchased the same size from the them before. They continued to tell us we were wrong. Will not be going back."
"One star, bc zero wasn't an option. I've been buying here since I started woodworking. The store is 90 miles from me, but that's ok. I bought a whetstone in Sept, got it home and when I opened it I found it was cracked across. I called the store and was told to bring it back within 90 days and bring your receipt. Went in today w the stone and was told, " no, you need to have the original packaging also." Then he proceeded to tell me "see it says so right here." He then realized it didn't. Three other employees stood and watched this exchange, but didn't decide to be helpful. Not doing this again- it's AMAZON from now on! AMF's!"
"I visited the store recently to obtain a variety of supplies for upcoming projects. I like to browse around and explore the store for new products. I spent a good deal of time in the hardware isle because most of the bins are empty and I was trying to think of alternate ways to use what was available. The staff seemed at first helpful until I realized they were hovering around to make sure I didn’t steal anything. They didn’t seem to want me to browse around because it made watching me difficult. I don’t like being treated like a thief. I despise thieves. Their approach made me feel very unwelcome. I bought $200.00 dollars of product and would have bought more if I didn’t feel disgusted with how I was treated. From now on I will buy what I need online. This bothers me because I like to support local businesses."
