"Beware of car break-ins, in broad daylight, even while parking lot is busy, from locked cars. Do not leave wallet etc in car. As for the hike, be prepared for scrambling up rocks to get to the top. Fantastic views on a clear day. Clockwise loop may be easier for climbing up rather than down. Easier out and back option going counterclockwise."
"Lots of parking today. A good climb straight up to Butter Hill. Then loop around to Storm King to get great view of the Hudson. A decent crowd for Friday."
"It was a great starting point for my toddler who has never been hiking before. The views are amazing as always and there is still some color left before season changes! Nice area for quality time/ reflection/ and photos ✨"
"Beautiful and serene. Path is easy to follow and find if you get a little too adventurous. You will pass several small brooks & the water is crystal clear and refreshing. I would not recommend drinking without purifying first."
"First time winter hiking and despite a cold 28 degree morning, it was a great hike. Rated as a moderate trail, in the winter should know it’s a hard trail with slippery and icy leaves making it easier to slip and slide and get hurt. Some sections of the trail was also icy and required careful maneuvering. There’s lots of rock climbing and hiking poles and boots with great traction would make your hike safer. Bring lots of water and snacks for fueling because you use up more energy compared to warmer weather hiking. Dogs are allowed on a leash and my 2 totally enjoyed this challenging hike. There are different trails, and although mostly well marked, highly recommend you plan ahead and use Google map or download a map from AllTrails, but cellular service is available throughout. Have fun and be safe."
