"2-4-24 update Started off of Highland Lakes Rd today and it was a beautiful day! A lot of folks out walking since its the first rain free weekend in a while! Did some of the black trail, the blue trail and out to Shawangunk Lake...trail conditions were pretty perfect...much better than the lower trail down by Monhagen a few weeks back."
"Intensive depending on your ability to ride through highly rocky terrain in some/most parts of the trail. There is a man made stream that provides a somewhat serene view down to the reservoir (Red Trail)"
"Red trailhead on county rd 78 is where we started. Several cars can park at site. No restrooms or water. Narrow trails in spots, need to walkover a log. We did white and some blue trails then returned. Good hike, bug spray needed. Orange path isn't completed along red and blue trail."
"This section of the Reservoir Trail, red Trail, is the relatively hard section. With narrow Trail, ups and downs, un even surface, makes it more like a real hiking Trail instead of recreational multi~use Trail like other section of Reservoir Trail. This is my favorite part of the trail, only problem is it's too short, only little more than 1 miles one way/2 miles reture."
"The brush is too high, signs were bent and knocked over and the trail markings should me clearer, however the lake is beautiful. It’s a nice place for a bike ride or a jog (with a friend cause again the brush is too high) The trail needs some love and attention from a parks department"
