Reviews of Clarence Escarpment Sanctuary
"Tiny (less then 1 block long) ,not worth visit"
"Beautiful"
"Nice place but not very big"
"A delightful little park! On a quiet Thanksgiving holiday weekend we encountered deer and chipmunks. Not much beyond cat tails in the water. The exposed Onondaga limestone escarpment is modest, but still scenic. It must be even nicer when it's green!"
"This place was amazing about 15-20 years ago. Since then, the developers of the Spaulding Lake community have encroached so far into the Escarpment that even before you reach the end of the short trail, you can see the luxury houses. The trail at the top has been completely eliminated and absorbed into the backyards of these residences. It is still a nice place to go if you are in the mood for a five minute walk. Beyond that, you will be met with a no trespassing sign that borders the properties of newly built mansions. Where once there was a beautiful forest, now Clarence may boast that they have a tiny park area that rests below a massive multi-million dollar housing development. It is a scenic place to go if you enjoy looking at the back of a large house. Truly a shame."
