"We have had a seasonal here for 5 years. Pulled the camper out and still go camping there on weekends when we can. Peaceful and quiet. Very relaxing."
"Great place to camp.. Staff is really friendly and helpful. All the people are very nice and respectful."
"My camping group of friends, about 10 adults and 9 kids camped here for NorWin's Halloween weekend. It was our first time here, and had heard such good things about this place, so we thought we would give it a try. We are very experienced RV campers and have had our run of good campgrounds, so-so places, and down right awful places. I would say this place rates as so so. Giving 2 stars as the over all attitude there was not only from management but from the seasonal residents too. Not very welcoming to weekend campers. I am listing all the pros and cons so that you can make your own informed decision on whether or not you want to try this place. PROS: Campground owner's nephew was very helpful in showing us to our site, and helping us back in and hook up electric, water, etc. No other campground has ever done that, so that was good customer service. We ate at the diner on site on our arrival night. The service was so-so, but our group walked in to place our orders at once so they got a bit overwhelmed which was understandable. The owner decided that the service wasn't acceptable and offered us free lunch the following day. Having a personal apology was nice. It wasn't expected and we didn't take her up on her offer as we were partially at fault for them being overwhelmed with the size of our group. The Halloween event was spectacular. The kids had a great time! The decorations were great, the people were generally happy handing out candy. So awesome to see so many seasonal campers participating. And The breakfast, pumpkin carving and costume contest was also delicious and fun. The park is gated giving an element of safety. Additionally, they offer a service to dump your tanks if you choose to use. Nice park and scenic from the onsite pond and cornfields in the distance. CONS: Ok, so here is my vent part of the review. We won't be back here for the attitudes of some of the owners and seasonal people. When we arrived, there was no 'Hello, how can I help you', it was a "just so you know, next time you can't use that entrance, it is a private driveway. Didn't you see the big sign?' I will post pics of the entrance that Google maps took us to. There is NO sign stating private drive or campground entrance ahead. NOTHING. That was my first interaction and welcome from the owner. I was reactionary but decided I was probably not coming off the right way either so checked my attitude and started asking questions about the weekend festivities. Second, when we were waiting for our dinner the first night, my son had to use the bathroom. I went to the rec hall and the lady working in there was nasty. I asked her if she could tell me where the campground bathrooms were. Exactly how I asked it. She literally snapped at me and said "In your camper". When I looked at her sort offended and about to blow up as this is all on the first night, the woman next to her explained where the public restrooms were. On exiting the park, we did not know where the trash receptacles were. We saw some empty cans next to the rec hall so figured that is where we put it and then maintenance would take it. this old woman came out and said that the trash goes up where the private drive is. My husband started asking questions. We can't drive up there, it is a private driveway. She told us that we would be closer when we drove through the exit and then we could carry our trash up the hill to the trash receptacles. Pics also posted. Attitudes were awful here. So much could be solved had they given out campground maps, instructions/rules, activity lists, etc. Sites are small and tight. We could hear our neighbor's campfire conversations on both sides of us. They were nice, so no worries there. So there is my review. Take it for what it is. We personally won't be back, but the festivities were fun and the kids enjoyed it."
