"Had a great experience visiting for the Good Medicine show. Venue is over-staffed in *great* way β polite, professional team guiding you from lobby to seat. Theater was smaller than expected, which is the best surprise at a venue. Every seat seemed great. Everything is new, clean, and well-lit. Lobby bars have limited offerings, but in-lobby restaurant has a full bar (get there early to avoid waits just before or after shows). Will absolutely visit again for another show!"
"Title: A Captivating Experience at PAC NYC My wife and I were recently delighted to attend a matinee at the Perelman Performing Arts Center, a true jewel in Lower Manhattan. The stunning cubic marble creation of the building casts an inviting amber glow, embodying elegance and architectural innovation. Inside, the ambiance is equally impressive, with thoughtfully designed spaces that create a warm and welcoming environment for all who visit. The centerpiece of our visit was the Motion/Matter Street Dance Festival, featuring the performances "The Barefoot Diva" and "P is for Pop, D is for Dip." Choreographed by Nicolas Huchard, "The Barefoot Diva" seamlessly wove dance, theater, and activism into a breathtaking exploration of identity and artistry. In contrast, Kia LaBeija's "P is for Pop D is for Dip" presented an intensely personal narrative through the lens of voguing, captivating the audience with its authenticity and creativity. PAC NYC's commitment to diversity and accessibility greatly enhances its cultural offerings, ensuring an inclusive experience for all attendees. Our time there was more than just a visit to a performance venue; it was an immersive journey into the heart of New York City's vibrant arts scene. PAC NYC is an unmissable destination for anyone seeking an enriching cultural experience."
"We saw the Afrikan Dance Party performance here. What a stunning show! If anything, we could have benefitted from some context about the dances and their meaning, but the dances where beautiful."
"Nice new building on Ground Zero, designed by REX led by Joshua Ramus. The architecture is reminiscent of Gordon Bunshaft's Beinecke Rare Book Library at Yale University. Make sure to go inside to see the transparent marble which is almost a direct quote from the Beinecke Library. The architect has been the Eero Saarinen Visiting Professor at Yale University which presumably gave him plenty of time to appreciate the Beinecke Library. He was also a founding member of OMA New York together with Rem Koolhaas until he rebranded the firm as REX in 2006. During his time at OMA New York he was the partner-in-charge of the Seattle Public Library. On the inside of the Perelman Center you also find a new restaurant by Marcus Samuelsson, Metropolis."
"Wow. What a great venue located across from the 9/11 Memorial. This venue is state of the art. We have already purchased tickets for some upcoming shows. My wife and I were fortunate to go on a tour of the venue during construction. Our guide Sean Cummings was energetic, engaging and very knowledgeable. Check out the schedule. There are some really good shows coming up and if you feel like it make a donation of any amount βΌοΈ"
