Reviews of Premium Sweets - Dal & Chal
"We started with fuchka as an appetizer. It was okay. The sauce was really nice. Perfect combination of sweet and tangy. Fuchka just lacked bit of shredded egg that we bangalis are used to. Next is the sweet lassi which was very refreshing and the best one I have had so far. For main course we tried Kala Bhuna with achari khichuri, Shorshe ilish polao, Walima roast polao. Kala Bhuna was really succulent and the portion was just right for one person. The meat lacked bit salt (Its a me issue probably because I like more salt than normal people). But if you eat it with the salad, it tastes perfect. I tried the mustard from ilish. The mustard had hint of bitterness which is a positive thing for me. We finished all our food and was really satisfied. To wrap it all we had the milk tea. At this point I was really full so I opted out but I had a sip and it was the best milk tea I had in a very long time. Highly recommended!!"
"The place makes authentic Bangladeshi cuisine into a high class affair. The prices are a bit high and parking situation is not ideal however the food is totally worth it. If you are vegan there is a lot of choices. The fish dishes are all very good and unique to the cuisine. I highly recommend the ilish Mach. If you are looking for red meat the short ribs is very flavourful. And no meal from bangladesh is complete without a biryani and the chicken biryani is the one we liked the most. We will definitely be back. The facilities are clean and organized- overall I would say it is a safe place for a penguin parent to take their kids."
"The food was tasty and the ambiance was even better unlike other Bengali restaurants of NYC. The service from Mr. Sajid was top-notch. Personally , I liked their chicken tikka masala and Lamb chops more than the Kala vuna! The tea afterwards was the cherry on top. I hope more Bengali restaurants will work to provide this kind of food and experience in the future."
"We went there for lunch and the inside was nicely decorated. The server was really nice. Foods were delicious and presentation was good. The only thing was the side of the plates were broken. This is something I personally don’t like to see in a restaurant. Beside that the overall experience was good."
